    presumably that's there for aero and debris. would be interesting if you cleaned out your airbox and checked back a few thousand miles later.

    Great observation I also understand that it was engineered for a certain reason to be that way and did consider protection from debris freely entering the airbox and possibly water under heavy rain. However when everyone chooses to replace the factory grill with an aftermarket Grill that area is usually wide open as well. I think it's a good compromise between the factory set up and the velossa tek ram air snorkel. I will report back to this thread within the next month with results regarding the air filter.
