One more thing I found out today while driving, as it has been brutally cold here in Northeast Ohio. My bright lights will not stay on with the new SCCM Turn Signal Module piece, besides not showing in the Instrument Cluster. I could hold it on and they came on but I'm sure that is not an option for some. No big deal for me. Maybe for others it will be. Maybe someone can add the auto High beams. I am not interested in that.
Do all cars with the digital cluster come with auto high beams? This seems like something that cold be sorted out with as-built.

It might be helpful to look at cars without the digital cluster that have both options also, as I would suspect Ford reused a lot of the same IPC addresses.

Yeah the high beams not working properly is a deal-breaker for me, so hopefully someone can fix the issue.

Auto high beams were only equipped with “safe & smart package” mustangs. That means ABD exists for an LCD cluster without auto high beams.

Got my Steering Wheel today and it is the heated version, however it is the one with Adaptive Cruise. I should be able to just switch the switch on that side. Here was the part number I ordered for Automatic with adaptive cruise part would be:

JR3Z-3600-MA JR3Z-3600-LA - Would be without adaptive cruise - automatic - paddle shifters

Wheel Assembly - Steering

$281.96

1

$281.96

Just got updated my order is shipping but steering column part and steering wheel are both on back order with no ETA. Ugh.

A bump in the road and I’ll be checking other sources. The steering column part is the most important operationally and I can wait on the wheel.

Glad you got your wheel Ray and let us know how it works. Still working on getting the accurate part number for your 18 vin.

So we have a few parts figured out on the HEATED steering wheels.

JR3Z-3600-GA (Manual without adaptive cruise)
JR3Z-3600-LA (Auto without adaptive cruise)
JR3Z-3600-MA (Auto with adaptive cruise) as p6cl found out.

Still have more part numbers to break down.

This is true and interesting. Hopefully we get this figured out. My 18 build does not have that package so maybe it will show the difference. We will see.

Bravo for all the work you guys have done so far!

Is anyone planning to do this swap on a 2018 301A? My car won't be delivered until Spring and this might be the first mod on my list. I read through the last 20 pages and it seems like in addition to the digital cluster itself, the pony button cluster would need to be swapped as well as some data changes for the pony button and auto high beams. Would there be any issues relative to the lack of navigation and heated steering wheel on the 301A cars?

Steering wheel wouldn’t be a problem and as for not having navigation I’m assuming it would just tell you to “see main screen” like it does when using android auto and Apple CarPlay

Thanks to db252 and p6cl for pulling the triger. Been rereading this thread all week! I want to order parts and hoping you guys can confirm my order, and steps - I'm a bit of a novice.

Have a GT 2016 Manual trans with sync3 and navi.

1) Order the following:

 • JR3Z-10849-LB <-- Cluster for manual trans
 • JR3Z-9C888-AA <-- New buttons
 • JR3Z-9C888-EA <-- New buttons
 • JR3Z-9C888-CA <-- New buttons
 • JR3Z-63044D70-BA <-- Instrument Panel
 • JR3Z-3F791-HA <-- Steering Column

2) Update Sync 3

3) Then flash 2018 GT as built data and change these lines:

 • 720-05-01
 • ----D818 001C to C818 000C
 • 720-10-01
 • ----2000 0000 0058 to 1000 0000 0048
 • 720-03-02
 • ----D818 001C to C818 000C

I've never used forscan before is there a specific section I need to flash specif to the cluster?

To start, p6cl is the master of this project and has made most of the ground work for any of us trying but I have tried to contribute what I can and I appreciate it.

You and I have basically the same car as long as you don’t have adaptive cruise. Your parts are all correct for this application. You don’t have the heated steering wheel listed but you may not want that. If not, you can save a few bucks on the steering column control as they make one that is not associated with a heated wheel but that part will still work and be ready if you ever want to go to the heated wheel.

I have all the as-built codes from an 18 that is almost identical to what my 16 and probably yours but I have no idea which codes will need to be changed yet until I get to that part of the build.

Forscan is fairly easy and the process is located in the diy section in a sticky and that is all the help you’ll need in that regard.

Just went through the two as-built printouts and compared one being my car and the other the 18 practically carbon copy.

194 code differences and out of those, 103 are code lines that don’t even exist in my build. This is gonna be fun.

I ‘ve been using FORScan a lot, but does anyone know if we can flash new blocks (lines) of data?
