Holding on to that last bit of secrecy, I suppose...

I suppose...but just about every other car company that is debuting a car at the show has put out a teaser already. Ford, Nissan and Kia are the only holdouts.

I'm planning on going to the Detroit show. Want to see both the Ranger and the Bullitt if they will be on display.

They are unveiling an all electric Ford GT... Nothing about a mustang...

Plot twist: Hackett will announce the cancellation of the Bullitt, Ranger, and Bronco because they won't turn a profit.

The Bronco and Ranger will be combined into Ford's new best-selling crossover: the Brangor

If...and I say IF the car exists then the Chicago Leak pics may be all the tease Ford wants... for now. Hell, it could maybe be a 19MY thus way too early for a tease.

Yes-- 68-18 would be a proper 50th but then.... 99 (spring) for the 35th LE car, 04 for the 40th, 09 for the 45th thus 14 for the 50th...nope...change of counting years so the 15 became the 50th. The Bullitt could be a 18 or 19...Ford ain't gonna bind itself to a specific year that tightly--always a way to spin things....

Do I want, wish and hope for an 18 to be announced in 2 weeks...yes....but a lack of a teaser now I do not think is a hint of either a yes or no.

But hey-- in 2 weeks we will know......maybe...

Ford should have made the announcement for the Bullitt tonight, at the opening of the San Jose car show. It's right down the street from where the old San Jose Assembly Plant in Milpitas was, where the original Bullitt Mustangs were probably built. It's also the Bay Area, just south of San Francisco where the movie took place. Ford really blew it.

To everyone looking for a teaser... stop looking.

It should be known by now that, as of late, teasers aren't really ford's "style"

Look at NAIAS 2015... Ford GT, GT350R, and raptor, and absolutely no indication of any of them prior to the show. Hell, most people still thought a Ford GT return was a fairytale until the very moment it got released.

As far as the 50th anniversary goes, the movie "Bullitt" was actually released October 1968... therefore, if they wanted to do a true 50th anniversary of the movie car, it would be a 2019 MY car being on sale October 2018. Just a thought!

Actually, unless it's a prototype, I'm guessing it has to be a 2018 if they are already building them, right? Anybody know someone that works at Flat Rock? :ninja:

If they were already building them the dealer orders would have already been taken in, and if that were the case that most likely would have leaked out somewhere already.

My guess would be that dealer ordering will start right after the NAIAS launch, customer orders in February with production starting in March/April. Depending on sales numbers and if there is a production limit they might run through into the 2019 model year, like they did in 2008/09.
