This topic has been beaten to death but just wanted to ask if anyone tried these for the 2018+ cars. I came across them on AM website and the reviews seem to be good. I doubt the hp/tq claims made their website though. The dry version is listed as +19 hp, +11 lb-ft, 595 CFM where as the Pro 5R oiled version +18 hp, +15 lb-ft, 635 CFM

They also list the open box versions of these on their website

Btw i'm planning to use the 2018 stockbox with aFe dry flow filter after reading the recommendations from everyone and get a Flexfuel tune

That airtube looks smaller than stock, if that's the case, your losing horsepower.

It can't be in order to be no tune.
Some of those K&N tube diameter is smaller than stock and don't require a retune. Seen/measured first hand.

1 thing i want to say is, power is nothing without traction.

Does your car have the drag strip mode ? If not, you want to invest into a tune that will give you that. Versus spending on useless cold air intake. The 18+ factory is a real CAI and flow more than the engine needs alreydy

The day you can uses your car in straight line, WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. Everything turned off (TC,ESC) and not loose control. Then you can look into more hp

Seriously? You need data to show a smaller diameter intake tube will lose horsepower? There are literally thousands of articles out there. From old carbureted air cleaner sizes to modern stuff.

I was asking for data that shows other no-tune intakes which have smaller than OEM MAF diameters. Take the logical next step, mmkay?

In this case: 15-17 is 85 mm, 18+ is 98 mm.

pretty easy with these cars
Agreed. I turn off the nannies all the time. Keeping this thing straight is a piece of cake. I might have to get used to the squeaks and creaks in the interior but ford definitely got the engine and suspension right.

I just did a chat with aFe on their website and the customer rep says diameter for this intake on the filter side is 5 inches compared to stock at 3.9.
Also says no tune required, they've engineered this to not get a CEL.

Many are 5" where they attach the filter. The important number is the diameter where the MAF sensor is. That affects the transfer function and if significantly off from OEM, will flow different than expected and set a CEL due to more/less downstream O2 than expected.

That makes me skeptical. Any change to intake piping should require a recalibration of the maf. Cel or not i can't see that running correctly or making the advertised power.
