Agree with the above that Sport Cup 2’s have no place on a daily driver and the reasons are:

- bad tramlining
- short life
- unless being completely reckless/dangerous you won’t come close to approaching their traction limit in a turn
- not good in the wet

That tire is just to turn impressive magazine numbers.
agree with everything. A Michelin PS4 would be a nice replacement. I'm sure I won't have any trouble selling the brand new Cup 2's as well. Perfect for the 350r track day crowd.

If you're mainly street, go Conti ExtremeContact Sport and save the cash.

I had a 2018 GT350 with no problems on it, I had the option to trade it in for something different, but didn't. I traded it in for a 19' GT350R. You will love the GT350. The MT82 transmission in the PP2 is garbage, the used GT350 has an extended warranty. You can't upgrade the suspension, transmission coolers, engine for only 4k. The minute you take delivery on your PP2, you just lost 10k in value.

On the bright side of the PP2, you can always sell those tires cheap to someone who could use them on, say, an R for track days

The $20k difference did factor into my decision, not that I couldn't pay it, I just didn't feel it was worth the extra $20k and extra insurance money. I just didn't feel the GT350 was the right car for me. If it was going to be a track car/car show car, sure I would go for the GT350. But this is a weekend car, take the wife out car with an occasional track day/autocross. When my kids are grown and gone I am sure I will have a dedicated track car, but for now a capable pony car. Some things about the GT350 where annoying to me. The heads up sort of tach was annoying, worrying about scraping the front splitter on every entry/exit we took, the car just felt less comfortable overall vs the PP2. It does help the PP2 has 401a and all the whizz bang guages (first time I saw a digital cluster was when I took delivery of my special order car).

you'll probably get that 20k back on resale though 35/15 in 5 years would be my guess.

A loaded pp2 vs 350gt is around 10-15k difference, not even 20k... also there are tons of brand new 2018 350gt at dealers with prices around 55k brand new. so more like 5-8k more than a 2019 pp2.

....but... rev match is something you should do with your right foot.... why would you want the car do it for you? It's the whole point of driving a manual. Get an automatic BMW with rev match if that's your cup of tea.

I just asked the question, not that matter for me. only owned 2 auto transmission in my entire life and more than 25 manual cars. so AT is def. not for me yet. Maybe on my 60+ years I might change my mind. We all know its faster but who cares...

It does have hill assist where the ABS holds you which is nice I don't think ease of starting on a hill is something that needs to be turned off on it but yes no auto rev match but it does sound magical to rev match it yourself especially down into 2nd about 6500 rpms.
