Look at the records. It’s had it’s whole AC system replaced twice.

17 GT350 owner. Some thoughts:

1. I have kooks headers, kooks x-pipe, no cats, oem mufflers, and a flex tune. On 93 I made 503 WHP. On the corn I made 525 WHP.
So I do believe you will make more power with a GT350 than a GT with the mods being equal.

2. The GT350 comes with everything. All coolers, mag ride, ect. I have the tech package. Recardo's (cloth) and the Nav and dual climate ect.

3. As others have said its the Pilot Super Sports on a 17. 295/305 10.5 up front 11 rear.

4. Trans in the GT350 head and shoulder above the 5.0 since you cannot get a A10.

5. New (PP2) v Used (GT350)

Now I will say this as well. At 6k my engine let go. My 3 and 7 rods left the building. Now my dealer gave me the headers and tune story. I took it up with Ford and long story short I was replace under warranty. I now have a 19 350r motor in my car. The whole story is in the thread: "Add me to the list nobody wants to be on." With that said I would not want to repeat the process. I say this because it does seem that SOME 17's engines have had issues. Not all, but some. By the internet standards, maybe its a very small %. But I am just stating what happen to me.

The 350 is a amazing vehicle and a lot of fun to drive, no matter the skill level. Even with my hiccup I love my 350. In the end, you have decide what is what gets you going. both cars will get the job done, you need to decide what does it for you.

I have rarely seen a PP2 in inventory.. I am guessing most buyers are ordering these cars? Or am I missing the configuration/option group when searching for one for sale?

PP2 are rare in some states I guess. In FL not hard to find at all but you can find more gt350 than pp2 cars for sure.

I was in the same position when I went to purchase. Choice of a GT PP2 with a roush installed by the dealer, or the GT350. The deciding factor for me was that the PP2 can not be ordered with a Tremac 6 speed, it only comes with the GT D4 I personally think the D4 is a POS, so that was a deal breaker. I went with a 2018 GT350 and I can not be happier. I do not have to drive the Shelby fast, it is cool standing still. If you get a GT all you have is a Mustang, not bad at all but not a Shelby.

Either choice you could not go wrong.

The PP2 is IMO, the most bizarre trim package of the S550.

I think the decision to replace the GT350 Base (2016) with the PP2 was a misstep, that was a hell of a car for 47k.

My buddy bought a PP2, as soon as he rode in my GT350, he knew he made the wrong decision.

OP, I guarantee that if you test drive a GT350 after test driving a PP2, you will walk out with the GT350.

I test drove a GT350 and PP2 back to back... I ordered a PP2 and waited vs driving away with a GT350 that day.

I agree and would not think a PP2 will be a better track horse at all, the car will be a daily driven with occasional track time but DD is the main use for sure.

So rolling on the streets for everyday use is what matter most on this case.
the pp2 would need all of the diff, trans, and engine coolers that the gt350 has for solid track work imho.

While this is an interesting anecdote can i ask your reasoning ? was it the fancy whizz bang gauges, the ride quality, or the price?

If it was the engine, transmission,or handling i would probably ask many more questions.

I ask this because, while i have driven a pp2, i haven't driven it back to back with the shelby... i have driven a bullitt

i don't realize how great my gt350 is till i let the wife drive it and i take the jeep into work.

Friendly reminder... not all vehicles redline at 8300 rpm and take turns at about any speed you feel comfortable driving on the road.

All the cooling features I'm sure the regular driver won't take any advantages of it unless you really track this car. if you plan on going for fun twice a year to a track you will be fine without it for sure. The pp2 has lots of good stuff as well suited for daily driving that will excel the rawness of the Gt350. I do believe the gt350 is a superior car regardless. But in my case I am not comparing both cars brand new, but a fully loaded pp2 brand new with all the 2019 new technology added versus a 2017 350gt which will miss some of this new technology. Today I did find one with Ford extended warranty which looks more interesting as getting an used Shelby with end of life for the warranty was preventing me to even move forward with the decision. I will call it and see if there's a deal at the table to be made.
