'waves' Come now Brent, you're a good guy, but don't you remember how you basically said that your c7 was in a total different league than the Mustang. You didn't say the Mustang sucked but, you were trying to convert me (and I almost went there, if it wasn't for that dealer).

This whole car circlejerking/dick wagging/pissing contest is just too much..And Brent, don't you remember what you told me about good ol Pill? For people who listen to Pill for entertainment it's fine by me, but if people actually take what he spouts, as gospel, then they need to get some fresh air. And don't even get me started about his stolen valor schtick (because no wounded veteran would have the time, or effort to act like a 14 year old ranting against a whole corporation)
We're talking about the Camaro. I still think the Corvette was awesome. It also had its flaws. My S550 has its flaws. At the time I was getting an LE for 52k and the Corvette I grabbed for 54k so yes the Corvette was the better car for that price comparison. I grabbed my GT for 35k.

ThePill isn't some stolen Valor sctick so I advise you to stay in your lane about that. I won't stand for a fellow service member being spit on.

The humor is how worked up people get over what ThePill says and they consume themselves over it. Did I believe everything he said? No O dint drink anyone's coolaid. Was he right about alot? Yup

not sure why that was necessary. Anyways...

GM originally stated at least a 200lbs loss depending on model...the 300lb claim for the V6 was after the original statement. Even if they meet the weight loss, the car is still only as "light" as the Mustang. To me that doesn't justify the price difference...glad I didn't wait till the camaro came out. For weight loss I wouldn't mind an extra grand or two but I got my just about fully loaded GT for the cost of a Base Camaro.
The 2016 2SS has every option that the premium GT has. If you add to the GT the premium sound and BLIS, (standard on 2ss) the price is nearly the same as the 2ss. Now a fully loaded premium is over 3800lbs. So if the 200lb loss is right, the 2ss should be around 3740lbs.

The worst part about the pricing is you can't get into leather seats for less than 40k. If they made leather an option you could add to a 1ss, this wouldn't be so bad.

Keep this in mind, the only thing lighter on a 2016 Camaro vs. A GTPP Premium that weighed 3814lbs is the front rotors and the stereo.

The Camaro has a lot of equipment that outweighs the Mustang's.

3780-3820lbs for a $37,295 1SS...

Be happy if they get it under 3800...

Yep and that is if they tell us the truth when they finally release the weights. I fully expect them to release one trim weight at a time and not disclose 1SS and 2SS weights until they are on dealer lots.

Oh, ok so they are forcing every option in the book on you with the 2ss....sounds great...I didn't get those features because of the cost...I certainly wouldn't want to be forced to pay those prices just for a nicer interior.

I see Chevy using a loaded 2SS as the benchmark for which this 200lbs lighter claim is based. The 2015 2SS starts at 3935lbs and can be loaded up close to 4000lbs.

I imagine they will say, with all the 2SS options now included standard, the 2016 1SS lost nearly 200lbs while offering more.

The total loses they report will be around 180lbs in the SS. They will advertise a 3750lbs estimate... it will probably be 50-100lbs heavier than their estimate, just as the ATS-V.

They lost a little over 180lbs total for sure, they gained 100lbs of that right back on.

Even IF they can account for 200lbs of losses, I can account for over 100lbs of gain.

LT1: 65lbs
TR6060: 5lbs
3 radiators: 10lbs
Trans cooler: 7lbs
Dual Knee Airbags: 15lbs
Seatbelt Safety Bags: 3lbs
Rear Diff Cooler: 3lbs
4 piston Brembo calipers: 4lbs total
Rear folding seat: 2-3lbs
Infotainment system: 10lbs (30lbs in the C7, I'm being generous here)
New seats: 2lbs total
Run-Flats: 4lbs total
Drive and half shafts: 5lbs total

They said 200lbs, I can see 100lbs of that being forfeit... easy...

273 pages and still discussing weight...Chevy needs to release more information so we can have a new set of hypothetical debates...
