My BMW's on the left of the column and my Mercury, Porsche and Landrover were.

Is that unusual then?

"Do not attempt to service, repair or modify the hood hinges as you could
compromise the deployable hood system. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible."

Let me put it this way, I believe no Australian built car had indicator stalk on the left side of the steering column, people who are used to driving these vehicles may find this odd.
Many years ago my mums ford escort had the indicator on the left side of the steering column, after a couple of corners you soon learn to adapt:)

Wtf is a deployable hood? I am picturing some kind of James Bond style flip up hood to protect in case of rocket blast or bullet impacts :)

Not necessarily so. If mine will still bolt on ,there going on. I am not aware of any other cars in aus with this system.May be nothing to do with aus design rules.

I'm not 100% convinced that the indicator stalk will be on the left of the steering column. The photos we've seen of the RHD car destined for Europe definitely did not show a wiper stalk on the right of the steering column.

I suppose we'll know for sure once the UK deliveries start.

looks like we wont be getting any remote start either, which is different to what i was told at the mustang night at the dealer. i was expecting the active hood which really isn't that big of a deal. it just feels like all the things that make this an "outstanding" car in the states, are slowly getting stripped away one by one.

Majority of the salesman have no idea about the Mustang. One dealer I spoke to didn't know about the pony projection lights.

The Escape in the US (Kuga for the rest of the world) has the remote start, but the Kuga never got it and it's been on sale in Australia for 2 years, so I don't think the rest if the world will ever see this feature.

Close, Rocket launchers attached to your bonnets hinges, so as to spring the bonnet up, and protect stupid pedestrians whom decide to step out in front of you...lol

The system releases the hood hinges and raises the rear edge of the hood by about
100 mm (4 in). This increases the gap between the hood and the components
within the engine compartment to provide additional cushioning in case the
pedestrian makes contact with the hood. The deployable hood system consists of:

• Hood.

• Hood hinges.

• Hood lifters located near the hood hinges.

Slowly losing enthusiasm for this car.

Each month, there is something more I am discovering that our version is not getting, losing enthusiasm.

And, quite possibly bonnet mods, such as Roush heat extractors / GT350 Bonnet, etc.
