2016 pre production GT350R

Hello fellow Shelby owners and enthusiasts; I’m hoping to find more info on my GT350R that is Chassis “PP011”; It was the featured car at the Chicago auto show in 2016 I’m magnetic Gray and I wanted to know if these were assembled differently for fit and finish ? and I have heard that only three are left that were pre-production and the rest were not sold to the public ? any information and updates on The GT350R pre reproductions would be wonderful thank you !

Having owned and been around numerous Pilot Production cars over the last 7 years or so I have come across many pre-production cars in various forms whether they be VP, TT, PP or MP variants and of course that includes the recent Boss 302 program along with the most recent GT350/R program.

I have no idea where your 2016 GT350R fits into the scheme of things but can tell you that the FRAP assembled 95 Pre-Production GT350/R's for the 2016 MY and that Ford built that many PP cars in 2016 because they chose not to build any Pilot Production cars for the previous year namely the 2015 MY.

If I understand you correctly there were are only PP 3 cars left for the 2016 MY and would be interested to know where that information comes from?

Yes, some of the PP cars were assembled with a different fit and finish and that includes PP0001,PP0002 and HR001 with this last car built for Jamal Hameedi when he was still with Ford.

The second last picture is of PP0001, PP0002, PP004 being the first PP 2 seat and 4 seat 2012 Boss 302's released to the public with PP004 being the first known 2013 PP Boss 302 being released to the public.



Congrats on purchasing "PP011" as it is a cool car for sure and wish you a great deal of fun with your car.

It basically give you detailed stats of vehicles of that year. I am waiting so I can get 1 for my 2019....

Looks like PP011 had a vin number sequence earlier than PP001 !?

The VIN of a vehicle does not have any bearing as to when that car was to be built.

In the case of PP001 it was built 10 cars ahead of your car namely PP011 and unfortunately not sure how many of those 10 cars built ahead of it were R models or regular GT350's.

In the case of my cars PP0001 had a higher VIN number than PP0002 but was built a day earlier than the number 2 car.

PP0001 was assembled on Monday, October 25th, 2010 with PP0002 being assembled the very next day even though it had a lower VIN number.

Actually FP can provide you with stat numbers and suggest that they can also provide you with a certificate of authenticity for your car along with possibly other documentation.

Have you pulled an Oasis Report on your car which will show the exact build date, warranty start and end date, any warranty repair history, outstanding field service actions, etc.?

Also is there any way to know how many were sold to the public after their shows and events that a ford used them for ? The previous owner bought PP011 from ford at an auction in 2017 ! He found information that only three were sold to the public?
