going to try .22 as that is what hellion is recommending....

7.5LBS is crazy, 12 LBS makes me kind of nervous LOL
got to get the new tires and rims mounted before i try that type of boost LOL
Oh yeah it’s definitely a learning process. I’m at 16lbs and it feels dumb I can’t imagine what 20+ feels like

I have my 6510’s gapped to .24. I think anything from .24-.28 should be good.
Just wait till you feel 12lbs
At what point does one go to 2 heat ranges colder than stock? 15+ PSI?

I’ve read that the 6510’s are good for up to like 18-20lbs. I had mine at .28 but started seeing some spark blowout around 15lbs. Put some new ones in gapped at .24 and haven’t had any more issues. The Brisk plugs are recommended for big power but they don’t last as long as the 6510’s.

My builder said that he wanted to run 2 ranges colder because we need to see at least 20# to get to the number. We might start at .24 for a gap just so there's not a lot of spark plug fuckery going on. We will run NGK brand only.

Nice! 20lbs is good power  The 6510’s are only 1 step colder but like the op I would gap to .22-.24 and see how it goes.

My buddy put down a little over 1200whp on 6510’s gapped at .24.

Hmm that's some good info. We might just try the 6510's and see what happens. Since we don't have a stock engine I think we might only need about 20 to get a few my HPs out of it.

I really hope it didn't get hurt on the dyno when tuning with the wrong injector data. Seems very unlikely a plug with a .028 gap is causing any issues at 7.5lbs of boost.

just checked cylinder 1-4 ( pass side) and all look good. Some plugs were not gapped consistently

UPDATE:

Gapped the sparkplugs to .24 and checked all the cylinders.
All the pistons looked relatively the same.

Drove the car for about 45 minutes last night with some moderate pulls and the car feels great.
there was no stuttering or shaking from the car.

Drove the car to work today and there was no shaking or CEL.

Praying this was the fix!

Keep us updated on how she feels when you turn it up.

14 or 15 psi is when youll start to feel valve float if you happen to be plagued with it. Some are lucky to not have it, others not so much.

Will Do!

Found the issue with the "misfire" codes.
Upon investigation with the data and explaining to the tuner what was going on and when the misfire code would appear, my tuner and I determined it the "codes" were nothing to worry about.

We turned off Misfire Detection.

After having the car for over a week, I'm ready to turn up the boost and reduce timing!
the first tune was very conservatives, made AFR between 10.7-10.9 on WOT and lots of timing.

What did he determine was worth turning off the detection?

If your on pump gas don't turn the boost up much! E85 is a different story.

on DECEL after a hard pull, the car would flash the CEL showing misfire then go away.
normal driving, no CEL, no Misfire, smooth idle and driving.

while the CEL was flashing, the car would stumble until it went away.
tuner said that the car will try to save itself while the CEL flashes or stays on.

Did compression test and cylinders were all within the standard range of PSI.

im on pump gas with a BAP and will stay that way. Looking to achieve between 10-11 LBS for next tuning effort.

once i get used to this power level, will install a fuel system and order E85 drums.

So the car is showing a misfire for a reason, I would imagine. Cars don't fake or falsify scenarios. If it was false knock, you want to take of the issue. If it's a misfire, I don't know how or why the car would sense that and it not be legitimate. I would be careful turning off the protections that are built in to this PCM. It is very capable when allowed to do what it needs to, in order to protect itself from catastrophe. You do what you want, but just be aware. That's all I am saying.
