Hello Everyone,

Recently, I noticed a strange amount of fluid/leaking around my differential. (2016 Mustang GT with about 30k Miles). My rear end and its components are all stock with the exception of lowering springs.

After noticing the "leak," i took it to Galpin Ford in Los Angeles, CA, and they advised its "seepage" and completely "normal." Seems like whenever there is an issue, Ford always refers to this same excuse.

Anyone else have this issue? (image attached)

Any thoughts?

Yep..... I have seen that alot... mine included.... fluid level is fine so im not worried. The fluid tends to come out of the vent and work its way over the diff.

Wheel hop will cause this.
Anything that can slosh the hell out of the diff like:
+1 armykyle1 Wheel hop (prolly most common?)
Launching the car over railroad tracks (Think Ferris Bueller)
Over filled diff
Extended heavy petting
Extremely hot diff and road course
Crappy diff oil that foams when overheated

Now if you see actual drips hanging off 5 times a week and a new fresh drip on garage floor every morning, prolly needs to be fixed.

I was just under mine the other day and noticed this also, on mine, you can clearly tell its coming from the seals where the axles go into the diff. Hopefully it doesnt get worse. Has anyone needed to get their seals replaced yet?

I would think a good sloshing when hard cornering or wheel hop may cause a few drops to come out the vent, or seep out the main seal momentarily.

Unless it starts dripping, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

2016 here and my passenger side has this but more around the half shaft going into the diff. No drips on floor and I can say I've had plenty of wheel hop over 25k miles. It doesn't look good ill say that.

Dealership calls it seepage and normal because it is.

Mine was doing the same. Had some bad axel seals. Replaced under warranty.

Perfectly normal, mine looks the same way. Unless it's a hanging drip, its not leaking.
