This.Fordfan Awesome job!
Worked on it on and off for about a week to allow the paint and clear coat time to dry.How long did it take you paint it?
Duplocolor BFM0344 spray close enough. Is that actual Ruby Red paint or did you find a spray bomb equivalent?
They look awesome!
Please post picture(s) when it's done.This.
I've got a buddy who's big into model building repainting one Magnetic to duplicate my car. It's even getting blacked out fender badge decals.
I can't wait to see it.

Nope, thanks!Strokerswild
Did you know Maisto already do a Magnetic Grey S550? Seems it's only available in the smaller 1/24 size at the moment though. I bought one on eBay a few weeks back
Since I build lots of models, after complete disassembly I etched the red paint by dipping the metal red painted parts in SuperClean household cleaner for five minutes and then throughly washed with soap and water then wiped it down with silicon remover (Pre-Kleano) from R-M.Fordfan - did you do anything to prep the original model? I have been contemplating doing the same thing to match my Ruby Red.
Looking at the pics of it, I'd agree - I'll pass. I've had great luck with scale and detail quality from Supercar collectibles - just wish they had more colors. http://www.supercar1.com/catalog/in...ucts_id=7085&zenid=sfm7n7969tfssdspu98lhf4je5One thing about Maisto brand- I'm not satisfy with the details of their model cars. I recently sold most of my Maisto 1:18 model cars. I just keep the Auto Art, kyosho, Norev.
