Did it sound like a cross plane crank engine or a flat plane crank engine ? :gossip:
He didnt say, but there are vids of this car from september with full camo and it sounds like cross plane crank.

Why does the hood scoop point to FI?
It might not be proof but it certainly suggests it, given that this is a Mustang.

Ill be shocked if the first "range topper" is FI.
Why shocked? Wasn't this the pattern with the S197, with the GT500 being the range topper out first? Bullitt, B302, came later.

If we are thinking about the same video, it definitely did not sound like a flat plane crank. The one I saw with the camo S550 with quad tailpipes still had the cross-plane rumble throughout the rpm range. FPC like the Ferrari V8s have a nasally rasp to them, closer to a motorcycle sound than an American V8. If you are talking about a different video could you post a link?

:lol:eek:l al oppenheiser has probably fallen and cant get up after seeing these pics, and knowing that his z28 will be destroyed before it even goes to their stealership.what would Maury Povich ask?hey al,you said that the zl1 based on your simulations would beat the GT500 to 60,the GT500 determined that was a lie.al,you also said that the zl1 would beat the GT500 at the 'RING,its been found out, that was another lie.hey al, at any time has any of this made you mad?al says no,again, thats another lie.did you not say,“You’re Welcome” for prompting Ford to do its best with the GT500. Ultimately, all of the ‘Stang’s power may not be any good if it can’t be put to the ground in some effective manner.
well al,based on the facts and the destruction coming your way maybe you should just go away quietly, before all of your camaro followers burn you.dont worry we will leave the light on for you.

My 2 cents, unless Ford is planning to bring back the Mach 1 this early or create a new nameplate, there's almost no question this will be forced induction. The B302 is done for a while so there's not a whole lot of choices as far as naturally aspirated nameplates to choose from.

It's easier to S/C the current carryover engine and then develop a new one in a few years to replace it like the 94-95 Cobras with the Windsor V8 before being replaced by the modular 4.6L. It's a formula that works for the Mustang.

The most tossed around nameplate for the next SVT model is the GT350 which is naturally aspirated.

Besides the 66 gt350S, how many sc mustangs had a scoop?

It is the 50th aniv of the gt350, a stripped down, high winding small block "finesse" comp car. Motorsport heritage. 2017 will be the aniv of the gt500... musclecar heritage.

None of them. The '03-04 Cobra and the '07-14 GT500s both had hood vents only.

That's what I'd like to see.

Just think 2012/13 Boss 302 but more Wow!
May have two versions...
(Think Laguna Sega)
Rear seat delete and C/C brakes,
Center guages standard, etc.
Don't look for MFT.
This will continue into the race program with
"R" Competition Version (For Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Grand Sport (GS)).

Also in other Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge news...RUMOR that the EcoBoost 4 will compete in Street Tuner (ST Class)

Price of Base G.T. 350 $45,470...10x the price of the original.

Some say this is a G.T. 500...but that's taking a haitus after 8 years (07-14).
Ford can't race the Trinity and it needs to continue it's racing program without interuption...thats why Multimatic is back with Mustang mid-season or next.

For $45,000 it won't have CC brakes, but I'm ok with that. Ford only needs to stick with the most commonly upgraded performance parts to make a winner; wheels/tires, suspension, brake hardware(pads, fluid, cooling), then add the parts that aren't as often upgraded such as engine internals and killer aero. If they can pull that off without a crazy price tag, something like $45,000 would sell very well.

The 'R' version can be the full race model with cage, fire suppression, stripped interior, so on.

There can be an intermediate version that comes out a few years later that includes the Voodoo engine, CC brakes, crazy suspension bits and unique interior/exterior and be the top of the line GT500ish model.

A real bargain especially if it burns the Z28 alive on the racetrack! The best part of having a smaller/lighter chassis to start with is you can match the performance at a fraction of the price. Have a track package on top of the GT-350 with some Michelin Pilot Sport Cup II tires and this thing will scare Porsche owners.
