We recently installed Roush's new axle-back exhaust on our 2015 GT. One of the most important factors when choosing a new exhaust is how it sounds. In this video we give you a comparison of the stock sound versus the Roush axle-back.

man any chance yall could cut that factory resonator off too and do a video with an xpipe?

it might sell you a bunch then and save us some money on exhaust! sounds great with factory resonator but man I want to know what it's like with an xpipe!

Yeah plus us convertible owners may be better off going this route as most cat backs won't fit due to the clearance around the extra bracing. It seems only 2.5" systems will fit (FRPP for one, but they're too expensive IMO)

Any idea why Roush advertises this system as "coupe only?" I asked Roush directly to verify that was a typo but the email I got back said he confirmed it was indeed for coupes only, but for the life of me I don't see why it wouldn't fit a convertible. The connection point is a significant distance from the extra bracing found on the convertibles.

If you have an extra set you can send me and I'll gladly be your test mule for you :D

Axle-back means the factory suitcase is still intact yeah?

Will Roush be offering a cat-back?

Yes. I think the resonator actually does more to eliminate drone in the cabin than people realize. A few pounds of extra weight... But I'm not racing it. If I was that concerned about weight then I'd exercise more than once a week.:D

Roush will offer a full cat back but it's an adaptive exhaust with quad tips (same as offered on the Roush cars) which requires replacement of the rear diffuser...not to mention the exhaust itself will be ĂĽber expensive!!

Am I the only one who thinks the recent clip sounds somewhat different than the original clip that was floating around??

I'm guessing the CJPP clip starts off at a higher idle, but the general tone sounds slightly different to me. Am I imagining things?

Bump. We can't possibly be the only ones who noticed a difference.

I do notice a difference, though I still like both videos. It sounds like the CJPP video is a cold start and they didn't really let it settle down much in the video, so that could be part of it. Could also be the angle of the video as the Roush video is on a lift. Could also be the fact that the Roush video is pre-production! :headbonk:
