Today we are installing MRT's stainless steel resonator delete H-Pipe fitting all 2015 GT Mustangs. One of the most common complaints of the new S550 is the resonator box that crosses the exhausts. This box is very heavy and very restrictive. The simplest solution has been getting an aftermarket cat-back system, but this can be rather costly. Now thanks to MRT you can delete the resonator without having to replace the entire exhaust.

Available only at CJ Pony Parts, Mustang Racing Technologies, aka MRT, has engineered this Resonator Delete H-Pipe that easily replaces that bulky and restrictive OE Resonator. Manufactured completely out of CNC mandrel bent 304 Stainless Steel tubing, this H-Pipe will bolt-in place once two simple cuts have been made and the OEM segment is then unbolted and removed. The new H-Pipe will reuse the two factory clamps found on front and MRT will supply two new clamps to use on the rear section after the applicable cuts have been made.

Installation is pretty simple, remove the factory exhaust, cut off the factory resonator box and clamp on the new h-pipe, no welding required. The whole process can be don in about an hour in your garage or driveway and the results are amazing. As soon as you fire up the engine, even with the factory mufflers, your Mustang will sound much louder and more aggressive, like the muscle car that it is.
After installation your Mustang will be ready to hit the road, no tune is required with MRT's Resonator Delete H-Pipe.

You mention it sounding raspy. Which one would you say would sound raspier, the ford racing x pipe res delete or this one?

Per Bill

They sound different. The X is raspy all the time. The H is deeper down low and raspier at WOT

This was delivered today and I got right on it to install. Took me longer than I thought but then again I'm an old fart. I used Rhino ramps to get to everything and went ahead and dropped the exhaust, drug it out the back and cut the pipes instead of attempting cuts underneath.

A couple of things slowed me down. Not being an experienced mechanic it took me a few minutes to realize I should slide the OE Ford muffler clamps rearward towards the resonator when pulling the resonator out of the front pipes. (Thought the clamps went forward, staying on the front pipe so that the end of the resonator pipe could clear it... but not so.)

After I made the pipe cuts per instructions (6-1/4" from back end of resonator) and after filing edges of the cuts I decided to test the fit by inserting the flanged section of the new H-Pipe over my cut pipes and I'm glad I tested first. It was too tight if you ask me. I had to work with both ends for about 40 minutes getting them to fit in, then wiggling them around to create some play. After I was satisfied they would go in easily I then proceeded to install under the car.

So the whole deal probably took me about 1-1/2 hours due to those 2 delays and I definitely got a workout on some muscles that haven't been used in awhile since I did the install alone.

But after it was done I was happy because the fitment worked out just fine and I am really happy with the sound.

I did not want to spend a lot of money on new axlebacks and I did not want it to be too loud. The video CJ Pony parts provided was very accurate as to the sound before and after and I'd say my deal is about the same difference. So if you look at this video and compare before and after what you hear is pretty much what you will get.

So with the H pipe I can definitely tell a difference, mush deeper tone at idle and lower RPM's, absolutely no drone and when you step on it you can definitely hear it. I think I made the right choice on this one and am very happy with the improvement in sound.

Thanks CJ Pony Parts and MRT.
