Just added a New Performance Product for the 2015 Mustang Eco Boost!

I am excited to see AirAid come out with two nice intake kits for the new Mustang GT and Eco Boost models. Their intakes are not "tune required" so you don't have to subject your brand new car to any factory warranty debate if any issues arise.

Any idea why ford put the air intake box on the drivers side?

Seems like it would have made better sense to but it on the turbo side. Less plumbing, less elbows, turns, ect.

I would agree with that. You also have to remember the fact that the S550 chassis is shared by three (possibly 4) motor options. To simplify manufacturing the intake systems are in the same location for the GT, V6 and EcoBoost. They probably mount similarly and pull air in from the same spot behind the grille. If you change this then you would have to move things around on the passenger side and it would just get complicated.

Looks killer but i like to wait to see just how well the factory box flows. I bought a cold air for my STI. was wasted money at my power level.

That was certainly one of the reasons we went with a sealed box as opposed to an open box. The entire system has been designed with an eye towards obtaining an EO number with these systems, and it is our intention to hopefully gain approval. Keep in mind this process can take a year or more, and that's assuming everything goes smoothly.

Does the factory airbox have a carbon trap? If not you wouldn't "need" an airbox to obtain an EO...
