Make sure you get the right kit
The one I found is $480 but apparently does not come with OBD2 plug and wire... That does me no good.
I'll have to shop around ... I'm also not paying the dealer three hours to install it.

Then take it away
Nooo.... I'm only going to buy from major retail outlets... And then there is the problem with three hours of installation time.

I'm just going to do it myself. I really don't want the dealer touching my GT.

Agree 100%. That’s exactly what I did. For $600 the bang for the buck doesn’t get better. I know there are very competent third party tuners out there. My previous sn95 was tuned by someone, but there is just some piece of mind that it’s a Ford Performance tune.

I wish you all the best of warranty luck Cheers
Not concerned at all about the warranty. With 15k miles on the car before I installed it, if something catastrophic was going to happen, it would have happened already. I’m confident the Ford Performance tune isn’t going to hurt the engine one bit.

Regardless, the Ford Performance warranty is done at 3yr/36k miles which will be in 10 months for me anyway.

The powertrain warranty is six years 60,000 miles.... That's not something you should just give up, have a certified mechanic install the kit
