So I took the truck to work yesterday (2019 F150 2.7t ecoboost crew cab 4x4..... she's a big fatty) and there is a place where little less than a 1/4 mile, shortly after a light that it converges from 2 lanes to 1. I pulled up to the light and next to me a 2010 Mustang gt lines up. Tinted windows so I couldn't tell if it was auto or manual. Anyway the light changes and we both start rolling not full throttle at all, I get in it because it merges down. So does he. But he doesn't gain anything, I floor it and start pulling on him. Not a lot but by the time it's do or die he concedes he is behind and pulls behind. Surprised the hell outta me.

Sounds about right to me. (I have a 2016 F150 SCREW with a 2.7l ecoboost - heck of a motor). The 2010s had the 4.6L 3V which was a dog compared to the Coyote in the 2011+ models. The 2.7l has more torque down low and I would guess your truck has more aggressive gearing down low (assuming A10) offsetting the weight disadvantage. Flat out I would expect the truck to take the lead early on, but then the mustang would catch up and pass (assuming an actual drag race) as speeds increase and weight+drag work against the truck.

Also - the Mustang's motor is 10 years old and probably lost a few ponies along the way.

Yeah the A10 is great and power has improved over the years a lot. 10 years of improvements makes a difference heck a lot of these Ford trucks are really fast with a tune only due to the turbos. My goal is to eventually purchase a regular cab f150 with the A10 and 5.0 and turbo or supercharge it for whenever I have to tow or buy something that wouldn’t fit in the mustang. Useable when needed and fast to just cruise around.

Although it's down on power and is several hundred pounds heavier, I have no doubt that my '19 F-150 RCSB with the 5.0/A10 would spank the tar out of my '15 Mustang between stoplights with the rear axle locked and the 4WD engaged. The Mustang would spin, and the truck just grips and rips.

It's a hoot on freeway on-ramps burning E85, even on the factory tune. I love it.

I told my wife about the E85 tune and she asks me "when are we gonna do it?"

There is a 2015 short cab 4X4 V8 for sale near my work, I stare it down every day I pass.

My lowered (2f/4r") 3.5EB F150 does a damn good job of cornering too. Bilsteins all around and 255/45/20 (General GMAX) to keep it interesting. The front does plow a bit but I could probably add a bit more camber. Currently -1 deg.

I drove my buddy's 2.7EB and it's very spritely to say the least. The 3.5EB is a little bit 'lazy' by comparison.

yeah I would imagine they sell fairly cheap as the take rate for them is lower than a four door but really the ideal one is an 18+ for the A10.

Got any pics of it lowered?

It's a crappy pic and yes there is too much fender gap. I have 305/35/22 wheels on deck which will rectify the problem.

Yep, if you can find one. My '19 was optioned exactly if I had ordered it (plus a couple of things), and since it had been sitting on a lot for 6+ months it was nearly $10K off list with rebates. I usually go with silver on a truck, but the price was right and I've grown to like the odd (to me) color.

Nice looking truck! I love the "old school" single cab look. Unfortunately, I find my SCREW just too useful. It is now our official family road trip car since it is so comfortable (and the kids have gotten too big to fit in the back of the mustang for multi-hour drives).

Maybe once the kids are grown and out of the house.

F150 are 15-25% off MSRP across the board. 30% is possible too.

Very true, but typically only on the more mainstream units that they stock a ton of as I found out. Weirdo RCSBs not as much, unfortunately. I have no use for more than two seats (only the one is occupied 99% of the time), so I'm the oddball customer.
