20-22 Shelby GT500 Spare

Greets guys,

Just wanted to post, I think we have a final winner, I have been in contact with Automotive Authority about their spare for the GT500 as I have been in contact with them since Modern Spare's disaster and they originally told me by Sept, well now it seems They have the GT500 ready and just ordered it for the spring. Pull the drop down menu and Choose 2020-2022 either the kit or tire and rim only, It will fit front and back, and they have a spare for a CFTP model as well. I am getting the tire and rim only as I have the jack from my '16 CS which I kept.

Interesting. Might be worth getting should I decide to venture further than 100 miles from home as a quick fix instead of waiting for my paid roadside assistance.

I also had been following their release of a spare. I’m very happy they made it happen. These are much more affordable than a stand alone wheel, and having to source a tire. The way they fit right into the spare tire hole is the icing on the cake.

Mine is on it’s way to me already.

Just received mine a few days ago, for emergency if needed. Be sure to check tire pressure before storing in car as they don't come inflated to 32psi.

32 psi? really, most because of the tire size and the weight it has to carry usually is higher.

I just went off of what the sidewall of tire shows. PSI didn't register on the gauge. They may ship that way to reduce weight/shipping cost.

I think the difference could be clearance. Unless I have read msgs on here wrong and misunderstood, CFTP rims can fit on a base model, but a Base model rim cannot fit on a CFTP.

From my experience with the AA Spare for the 350R if you put more than 32 PSI in
the tire it will not fit in the wheel well. IMO, AA makes a great product.

I believe that is backwards. The CFTP wheel has a thicker hub which requires longer studs. So a base wheel will fit on a CFTP but you’ll need open ended lug nuts. The carbon wheel won’t mount up to a base hub due to the hub thickness preventing appropriate thread engagement on the studs.
