Does anyone here see why the 2 relay transbrake from the s197 won't work here because I think I'm about to try it?

well in the s197 they use two relays to flip flop the outputs of solenoids ssb and ssc. Don't see why we cant do the same ? Also the 6r80 manual says for lpc solenoid zero current opens the valve and applies full line pressure so why cant we add a relay to the system that disconnects the ecu output to the solenoid ? unfortunately you would have to shut that code off in the tune or fool it with resistors.

IN first gear ssa and ssb are sent voltage opening the hydro circuit in ssa and clossing ssb where ssc and ssd are not open at that time. Reverse has no voltage sent to solenoids because ssa and ssc are normally closed with no voltage and ssb and ssd are open with no voltage. ssa (1234) ssb (3/5/r) ssc (cb/2/6) ssd (cbl/r/4/5/6)
so by flipping ssb and ssc in d or 2nd you will open the reverse circuit and open 2nd

i'm worried about the reverse pack not being able to exhaust the fluid fast enough and burning it up also the reaction will be slow.
I think this will work , any input would be great before i explode my trans to the gods of speed and to educate the forum.

I found this picture on another forum. Disabling DTC P0748 and P0962 is required. If the software doesnt allow this the OP said it was possible to simplify the hydraulics enough to leave the direct clutch alone and not need to disable the codes. Either way ECU calibration is required to have it function as a brake.

As far as I know the transmissions are physically the same. The ecu tuning is a bit different for shift points, but the shift properties are the same. Would be interested in what tune changes are required.

Mark the s197 is a 5r55 and the 15+ are 6r80 , they are close. The codes are for the line pressure because they are using a relay to break the lpc solenoid and then there won't be resistance to the ecu. Plus I've seen two different ways on the s197 to make it work , 1. Flip flops ssb and ssc 2. Other flips ssd and ssc solenoids. I noticed jms is using ssb and ssc so I'm quessing there flip flopping them but with there electronic board not relays.

Yes I could buy it but like my coyote swap and custom turbo build I'm doing, I like to build stuff and see how it works .

The 5r55 was replaced with the 6r80 when they released the coyote. So 11-14 mustangs have the 6r80 in them. I was referring to the 11-14 tuning vs the 15+ tuning.

Yes I knew that, I thought the picture U posted of the wiring was the 5r55 if its not and its for the 6r80 please attach a link of where u found it.

It will get censored you will need to remove the space.
