Anyone else hear about a small v6 EB hiding in plain sight..? The new SVO?

I know the Roush tuned 2.7 EB gets crazy downlow torque, & if Ford is going with a 2.9 EB (twin turbo, instead of twin-scroll?), I can only imagine what the TQ numbers are. I've heard several mentions of this.

The rumor seemed unlikely given the mention of a new 2.3l "RS Engine" for the Mustang, or having no need for v6 EB bcz hybrid electric w/gobs of TQ on the way….

Yeah 3.0 Turbos range form like 330-400HP already from many makers. I think Ford and Infiniti are the ones making the 400 mark though. I know that Infiniti's is really making closer to 440.

There is also a 505 hp 2.9L twin turbo out there in the alpha romeos, but it is built by Ferrari.

If they do a 2.9 or even a 3L turbo mustang they better get the GT to 500 hp and 450 tq. A 380 to 400hp turbo motor is just a tune away from walking a GT.

A 2.9/3.0 V6 would be very welcome as compared to a second 2.3 eco.... Hoping it's the V6!

Figure on a 360-400 hp 2.3 turbo. The TT v6 would be a tune away from equaling a GT and Ford is not about to shoot themself in the foot.

Why (?), the GT people will still buy a GT because they want the v8 and the high-revving visceral experience.

I don't think it would matter if the SVO & the Bullitt has the same performance, they are getting there two different ways. A v8 is a premium vehicle now & a stout turbo engine will lead the way in efficiency, there is no way around this.

I can see the 2.3 getting a power increase, but I don't see a new engine being offered in the Mustang until the next gen.
