All you guys talking about drag setups, remember that brakes in the rear are monsters, 14.5" rotors plus the caliper. 17" fatties in the rear aren't going to work without a brake swap.
rears are smaller or same size as gt350. which you can fit 17s on with control arm swap, or 15s with a brake kit

Thanks, I did see Shine Techs when I did my search, was just trying to avoid an hour of highway driving if I could. I wish reading wasnt a sh*t hole and had a good place right here.

Some DRs on aftermarket wheels or brake swap.
re: bold

Then why even bother with a GT500? I don't mean that in any sort of argumentative way, just seems like a strange path to buy a GT500 then mod it away from its original design intent.
For the 5.2 with the DCT. Not saying I’m doing that, just saying it’s the other options. I personally would rarely use the car what it’s intended for just like 90% of the owners. I would be using mainly for drag.

For me, I'm enclosed trailering it immediately from the dealership to have ceramic coat + as much clear bra as possible. My 2015, then 2017 chipped to hell with less than 2,000 miles. Paint protection is priority #1 for me. I'll prolly tint the windows 20% + a fat windshield strip. I hope to just drive it after that, but with what I did to my two last builds I already know how that's gonna go lol.

Clear Choice Detailing in Downingtown did an excellent job on my GT350. [email protected]

What dealer did you get yours from?

Sheridan Ford is where my deal is, id like to drive it home, get the paint worked on as close as possible and then brake that predator in..

Been making this list (actually a full spreadsheet) since i decided to get a GT500.

Some things i will do in order likely will be dependent on aftermarket availability....not sure how long it takes on a new model

1. 5% window tint
2. Ceramic coat
3. Forged wheels 21x11.5 square setup, 325/25/21 tires, also set of rear drag wheels/tires
4. Body Color Paint (side mirrors, rear wing, front bumper undecided)
5. Debadge: front cobra(if can be done, black out otherwise), side cobras (if no holes), Ford performance smooth rear taillight panel
6. Shelby performance coolant expansion tank, catch can if not equipped
7. Lowering springs when available
8. Probably a sub box, depends how the stock system is
9. Jacking Rails, rear cradle support of some type, possible front subframe brace
10. LLoyds floor mats
11. Cold Air, headers, h-pipe (no cats), pulley, tune.....likely this will be done way down the line while others figure out what works and what doesn't
I'd pay 3K for a badgless option on this car. SMH at it still. Sadly that big ass front snake looks like its molded into the bumper somehow.

My advice is to make the rear quarters (in front of the rear wheels) a priority. My GT350 really got blasted in those areas. Now I took it to the track, but I would assume you will get chips there even from street driving.

I saw this car at Laguna Seca over the weekend, during the World Superbike race.

My first round of mods:
Get toyo R888R tires all around

2nd round:
lighter two piece rotors (i hope someone makes em!)
remove rear seats, swap to lithium battery.

Maybe swap the carbon wheels for some lightweight Forgelines. Save the Carbon wheels for the track.

Never to early to start to hear everyones plans to mod.

For me I expect to be 100% satisfied with its performance and looks.

I plan to get it ceramic coated and possibly get the paint corrected depending how many swirl marks I see.

Put wings on it and a great looking tail in it!
