1st and 2nd gear shifter creating buzzing/rattle noise

Other than regular whining noise from the shifter in 1st and 2nd gear, I am also hearing weird buzzing, rattling noise in 1st and 2nd gear. It only causes when the rpm is over 4k. Is this normal? Could it be loose bolt in the shifter?

Stick your hand under the rocker panels into the pushpin openings on both sides. Make sure all of the pushpins are properly seated. They make an ungodly racket when they are loose.

this is the first ive heard of this. do you mean for the sideskirts?

Yes. 10 seconds to check each side. The pushpins wiggle out and the sound of them rattling is nuts.

Sorry to bump an old thread. Any updates on this. I am experiencing a similar noise. Again, only 1st and 2nd gear at rpm above 4K.

It’s probably the trans spacer plate rattling; very common problem with the S550:
