This particular example was owned and operated by the man himself, Carrol Shelby. Although the car has significantly appreciated it has taken more than 5 decades to do so. Enjoy your cars! That's what Mr. Shelby wanted of his cars and clearly did with this example:ford:.

Great cars - I have a friend who goes through 65/66 Shelbys like some of us go through tires. He restores or repairs them, trades off for another, and then another and on and on. He once found the original engine to the 65 350 he owned at the time in another 350 - so he bought it and swapped engines and then sold off the one with incorrect engine. Kept the one with the reunited original engine for awhile, but then traded off again. I've lost count how many he has had go through his hands in the 15 years I've know him. He just finished a green 66 350H auto.

I would like to think our cars someday obtain that kind of status but I'm sort of doubtful.

I will be dead before my cars appreciate to a worthwhile investment. Face it, we are not buying these cars to contribute to our retirements.
