How competitive are you trying to be? 19" will have more tire options but 18" will be lighter weight and lower rotational inertia.

My suggestions:
18" - Apex wheels (EC7 or SM10)
19" - Also Apex but any of the LMR SVE flow formed wheels are solid for the price

Well i want this for the track only so are the 18” better because of the lighter weight etc? Any offset or measurement i have to worry about or the rims u recommended already good to go? Also how wide of a tire can i out them? Thanx

Pick your tires first. Some of the good ones won’t come in 18” sizes and mustang diameters. Others are not be available in 19”.

Interesting, what so u use for track?
For wheels and tires, you should find what fits your budget first. There will always be better and more expensive options.

I use SVE SP2 wheels (19x10). I got a set on sale for $800. For tires, I use Bridgestone Potenza S007A, 285/35/19. Got a set of 4, mounted and balanced for $900. Are these the best options? Not by a long shot but they work well for my skill level and budget.

I have for the track
#2 set 19x11 LMR.
#1set apex wheels 18x11(one of the few to clear the 6 piston brakes)

All +52mm offset (so you can rotate all around for better wearing)

Using a 25mm spacer (opmustang .com)
Lomger studs(to accomodate the 25mm spacer)
Open lugnuts (opmustang.com)
And alsonI suggest the camber plates. For better fitting under the fenders and performance.
Our cars love big tires(possible 305) and lots of camber.
Ps the different in weight is 1lbs btw 19x11 and 18x11. The are flow formed

They are all good, for different things. This why you need to choose the tire first.

Slicks
Semi-slick R compound
Streetable R compound
200TW Extreme Performance Tire
300TW Max Performance tire

18s are generally better for the first two (better tire selection), and 19s better for the last two.

Do it right the first time and get some Titan7 18s for your track setup.
$2100 for fully forged wheels is a steal.

Here's a customer with a set of 18s on his GT. Running a 275/40/18 tire setup all around. No rubbing or issues.
If you want to run a bigger tire you would need to utilize spacers but we also have a track mustang with 305s.

Let me know if you have any questions or you would like to get a set for yourself!

Feel free to text me at 213 394 2886!

Appreciate ur post, am thinking i will be doing 300tw firs then no more than 200tw.
With that being said any inexpensive rim that wont break at the track that u can recomend?

The various SVE wheels in 19x10 are great bang for the buck. Pick the design you like best, I think they are all within a pound or so of each other. I would give a slight preference to the ones availible in +35 vs +40 offset.

I like the Flow One wheels Tire Rack carries as well.
