MadMax - look at my posts on page 11. Brand new 2020 R had problems with the lockout ring from literally the first time I drove it, backing out of a parking spot at the dealership and then trying to put it in first. The lockout ring would not go down smoothly after taking it out of reverse so when you went for 1st, it would slide right over to reverse. Got a little better with some miles but then it started happening again so put an MGW in it and no further problems. It is an amazing feeling transmission to use, fast or slow, way better than the MT82 with MGW in my Boss. I actually enjoyed the factory shift lever feel but the MGW is a lot firmer and more mechanical feeling.
Thanks I thought it was just me but seems not to be. Do you have a hard time with reverse or 3rd? Barton retains the reverse collar mechanism but haven’t heard much on it at all.

Zero problems with reverse or 3rd. I ended up with an Epco shift knob that sits slightly taller than the factory knob and it's perfect. Seriously, I could bore you for hours with how amazing the GT350 shifter is with the MGW! That Barton looks good, too, and they certainly have a good reputation with the old S197 Mustangs.

Replaced the recalled shifter last year and it has now failed again. Heard the spring either break or release and make a loud noise. I can only use reverse lock manually and then you have to manualy re-set it......dealership has had replacement on order since July 8th...no word on any replacement. Was going to try the M-7210-M8A but after reading this entire thread not going to do it...

My dealer ordered one for me last year. Called me when it came in. They may still have it in stock as I never took the car in for it. May be worth a shot.

do these recalls have an end date for getting it done? i am on the recall list for the shifter but i dont want to take my car in unless I HAVE TO. but i know at some point i probably should...
According to my "Customer Satisfaction Program 19B34" letter from Ford, the end date for this Field Service Advisory (FSA) is 13 February 2022. Like you, I haven't had it done yet to my car and won't, unless it starts giving me problems. In other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Sent MGW email 2 days ago, no response yet. I see most dealers are out of stock as well
