I have a White 2019 Mustang GT, 301A, A10, with the stock 18” wheels that come with the 235/50R18 all-season tires. I want to get a set of black wheels for my Mustang. I like the style of the 19” Black Performance Pack 1 Wheels, and I usually see a used set for sale which can save me some money. But the used PP1 wheels around me seem to have blemishes on the wheels and little tire tread on the rears, which means I have to spend extra cash for 2 new tires. A used set costs around $650-$750 locally.

Would it be best to just spend the extra cash on some new black aftermarket wheels and tires? Anyone have suggestions on what kind of black wheels look nice on a White Mustang? Tire size and brand recommendations?

My Mustang is a daily driver with occasional trips to the drag strip.

Thank you!

Check out the post from Darren at MMR. The M600s look great, and are on sale now. Also, if you can find a deal, Velgan wheels look outstanding. I would love to snag a set of the VMB9s if I had the extra cash. LMR aslo has some pretty good deals going the SVE wheels. Definitely worth checking them out too.

Tires are consumables. If you can't afford 2 new tires, you're barking up the wrong tree. Since you DD and probably have good weather, you can try your hand at the $100-130/tire price point.

Used PP1 wheels should be $150 each in very good condition. I picked up a set of new 19x9.5 Forgestar F14 for $130 each on AmericanMuscle closeout (now back up to $400). So best is to watch for crazy deals from AM and LMR.

Aftermarket wheels can be had for steep discounts but generally you're looking at 150-200 for cast and 200-300 for most of the accessible roto-forged wheels.

Aftermarket always. You might check ebay too. There are a lot good deals there, with and without tires.

The only issues with PP1 wheels is they are heavy. Around 33lbs.

I’d hold out for Black Friday. AM always does some really good deals on wheels. The last 3 years I’ve picked up sets for under $100/wheel. Also be on the lookout for discount tire direct on eBay. They’ll run a lot of specials for $100 off tires with free shipping. I’ll buy 2 sets to get $200 off.

Are you referring to the two 19x8.5 wheels for the front and the two 19x10 for the rears?
Things to consider:

1. Do you want a staggered setup or square? Square handles better and allows for rotating tires front to rear.

2. Many prefer staggered for looks but the PP setup only gets you 10 inch wide for the rear which kind of defeats the purpose with all the 10 inch square setups out there. If you want staggered, 11 inch in the rear gets you wider tires.

3. Do you want a more aggressive, flush with the fender look? The PP wheels won't do it (nor will the AM replicas), which is why many add spacers to the PP wheels).

Check out LMR for their 10 inch square and 10/11 inch staggered offerings. Of the choices at AM, I would choose the 2013 GT500 style 19x9.5 square (+35 offset) over the PP replicas at a similar price point.

1. I'm looking for a staggered setup.

2. I'm open to other kinds of wheel measurement setups such as running 11 inch wide for the rear.

3. I'm not looking for a more aggressive, flush with the fender look right now. But I have heard of other people adding spacers to their PP wheels.

1. I'm looking for a staggered setup.
obviously your call. Unless you're just crazy about stance, the 9.5 or 10 square gives you a plenty of flexibility and a lot of people choose that setup.
The Ford PP1 is 9F, 9.5R

I went with ARP extended wheel studs all the way around. And then I got slip-on, hubcentric wheel spacers from Optimum Performance.

Front = 1/2 extended studs and 20mm spacer
Rear = 1 inch extended studs and 15mm spacer

A proper grown man flush stance on stock PP1 wheels on my 2019. No poke!
