interested in doing this since i really wanted royal crimson in manual but when i bought it all they had left where autos in my state. would it be cheaper just to try and find a manual royal crimson and trade it in for it. i used to have all my mustangs manual but the 10spd has been fun but i really miss banging gears. im thinking it might be too much hassel to do it just looking for opinions.

I have yet to see anyone on this forum or anywhere else do an auto to Tremec swap on 18-20 cars. I don't think they even have a kit for them, but you can call these guys. I used them to do a Tremec magnum swap on my 2012 gt Jpc 410-729-0005, they do these swaps all the time.

wait for the Mach1. Buy the trans, driveshaft, and rear-diff coupler combo that works with the TR3160 or whatever it'll be called. The XL swap is riddled with gotchas and dead-ends. Don't bother.

Ben Calimer great trans building, poor customer service. If you get one buy it through Lethal Performance.

Isn’t the Mach 1 getting the GT350 trans?

or a slight derivative thereof. Point is the engineering and harnesses and all that will have been done. The XL option you have to fight with to get various things to work. A pure GT350 trans won't support rev-match for instance even if everything else works.

My Magnum xl on my 2012 gt was installed by Jpc in Baltimore Md. I never had one issue with it. Yes the same trans in the mach1 is already in the Gt-350..

nobody cares about XL compatibility on a different car. There's plenty different between that series and the S550. And some additional complications if you have a '18+. If you have an old generation Mustang the XL swap is easy.

Unless teh Mach1 is going to lose RevMatch feature, the GT350 version and the Mach1 will be different. And that also assumes the gear ratios are blindly carried over as well. We don't know that is true either.

Yeah i hear ya. But there are plenty of 15-17 gt tremec magnums swaps out running around, and some of them are gt-350 tremec magnum’s swaps of the same years. My tuner has been doing tremec magnum xl swaps on the gt-350’s for A few years now. The reality is, right now there’s no kit specific to the 18-20 years, likely because the tuning is plenty different then the 15-17’s. It takes time just like it took time for the 10r80’s to come out with a clutch upgrade kit. That’s not to say that a good shop couldn’t figure out how to make it work. That being said, when you see shop’s selling swap kits on their websites for those years, that’s when the op should look into doing it. Until then the 10r80 should suffice..

A good example: vmp figured out how to put a 2020 gt500 Engine in one of their cars and hooked a manual trans to it. Its the only one out there.
