That's killer, I want to do the same thing (but in race red). Did you disassemble it yourself and just take the upper 1/2 into the paint shop?

If you don't mind me asking, what did that run? I was figuring maybe $125-150[?]

Does Anyone have Dyno Number for a Ported vs Non Ported Manifold. I just purchased a Non Ported Manifold and I am debating on getting it ported before I Install it.
Thanks

I'm auto, getting intake on Sunday. Been told by Tony @ Tuners Inc, and Adrian MAK that there is no noticeable loss down low on auto cars. I will report back with results soon! :gossip:
Tony will get you dialed in no prob

I contemplated Ford Blue to kinda match the car but just went the easy route of black VHT paint with high temp clearcoat.

I look forward to seeing your results. I am auto but with 3.15s so i have been worried about down low losses. Thats why my 18 manifold is still sitting in its box until I see more concrete results. Good luck!
Thanks. Will post results.

Gameover I like that in all black looks about identical to the gt350 intake, if I do go the 18 route that’s what I’m going to do

It was super easy to do. Cleaned the runners, taped it up, applied black (1200 degree paint from Home Depot)with paint brush (3 coats), then sprayed 500 degree clear coat (4 coats).

Why do the dynos start so high? Possibly trying to hide the fact of a good power loss below 4.5k rpm??

Why don't they start the pulls at 2k?

They start the 18 manifold at even a higher rpm, possibly to hide the loss down low and make it seem like it's only gains. I've yet to see a good dyno before / after on the same dyno and conditions.

Just my thought on it. 94 pages in this thread, you think with all the hype dyno sheets would be all over the place. But they aren't, it's mostly smoke, mirrors and butt dynos.
1. Who goes WOT at 2K?
2. Going WOT at 2K in 5th gear is not good on your engine.

1. You don't go WOT at 2k normally in 5th but you could if you wanted and it won't hurt anything. I floor it from 2k in 1st/2nd all the time and I'm sure lots of other people do too.

For trying to show the intake makes huge gains and loses nothing below i would surely want to do a dyno run from as low a RPM as possible to highlight this point.

2. For a turbo engine and even then probably not. For a pretty much stock engine it isn't going to hurt anything for a few dyno runs.
