18 / 19 rear tail light covers? not tint....

im not crazy about putting tint on my new cars tail lights for several reasons. not only is it a pain in the ass, but ive had bad experience with my mini cooper where after several years the tint glue fused with the plastic and basically ruined the headlights.

they make tint covers out of plastic you velcro on, but i cant seem to find any yet that are made for the 18's or 19 mustangs (except the ones that cover the entire lights, which i dont care for since i like the shape of them on the 18s). it would be a waste to cover them completely up IMO.

any help on this? or comments as to when a company like GTS or speedform will step up and crank some out?

additionally, if anyone has a Busted tail light off an 18, id love to buy it so i can try and make some of my own (and happy to offer them for sale at a decent price). i have access to a laser cutter at work, so id just have to buy some thin tinted lexan and figure out the shape, then use the tail lights as a mold to heat gun the lexan into shape.

Did you try American Muscle? Thats where I got me 15's. I would rate them an 8 or 9 of 10...they dont fit perfect, an you can see the Velcro if you stand off to the side....
But they have been trouble free for 3 years and the Velcro is good to at least 112 at the track!
I think mine were about $59.

they sell covers for the pre '18 lights... which are curved like the letter C kinda... so they wont fit. i found them on ali express, but at the whopping price tag of $150!!! still debating whether or not to pull the trigger, they look tits, and i may end up being the only guy in america to have them, but at a cost! lol

Dont do it, I got the hard covers for my 16 and they cracked one of my lenses. So now I have to replace the whole assembly. Just get them tinted and be done with it.

I don’t know if anyone else has seen the newest option available now, but you can now buy complete rear S550 tails with smoked lenses, they actually look good and according to seller listing are DOT approved:

I ended up buying those covers. Not from amazon, but same company from ali Express. Perfect fit. 5 min install. Looks great. Pricey, hell yes. With it? Also hell yes lol
