It's not that 6th is an overdrive, it's that the gt350 is already knocking on drag limited top speed in 5th and 6th drops you too far off peak power. Many cars have a top speed achieved in a overdrive gear.

Considering he doesn't show the street he is definitely going on a public road, tho there are a lot of back areas out there with barely any cars.

On the transmission temp thread Push13 recorded 170+ in his tech (prior to hitting limp mode )....
Below is repost of relatively routine run in 4th and 5th at about 2/3 pedal...shy of 150 because of road conditions, but have been upwards of 160 on several occasions without specifically looking for max speed. No doubt the car can achieve 175, especially on a simple acceleration run. An R or track (or Ecoboost or 5.0) can sustain it.
LIMFAC in the States is not the car; it's laws and road conditions.
Takes nothing away from OPs post, which is still a good perspective. Never been able to watch the gauges at speed...

I was running in 5th in the 130-150mph range with a couple trips to high 160s and the MyTracks app showed 172 as the top.
...As a side note, it pulled hard to 170.. too bad 6th is so long..
