16 to 18 Mustang Sync 3.0 to 3.4?

Is there any major difference to sync 3.4 apart from the different look? It seems quite risky and a lot of work to upgrade to it looking at that page. Any chance Ford will offer it, or is this something that only the 2020+ vehicles will have?

The look is different, many bugs are fixed and if you like changing the boot logo the gt500 one is now available ))

MY19 onwards (anything that was shipped with Sync 3.2 or 3.3) should get the official 3.4 upgrade at some point. They have a different APIM to the 3.0 and below versions.

Yes, I performed this update on my MY16 without any hiccup. Installed seamlessly.

Ditto, did it today on my 18, worked perfectly. Running 3.4 now.

Count me in as a 3.4 user! I had already swapped a MY16 sync3 screen and apim previously to get CarPlay working. I used the instructions listed to take mine from 3.0 to 3.4, which is something that ford would never allow. Everything works as it should with my nav maps updated and 3.4 feels a lot more responsive. I did not do any apim firmware update.

Updated tonight 3.0 - 3.4 using that guide. Only did the 19101 build. Might up to 19274-but not sure what gets updated.

I mainly did it so I can get Google Maps directions in android auto onto the dash.

from my reading 19274 is mainly bug fixes. I went ahead and went to it immediately after 19101 so I don’t know specifics. I do know the bootloader is blacklisted on 19274 so you won’t be able to backdoor in and flash packages anymore like usb 1 in the instructions accomplishes.
