I sent out the converter to Circle D and heard back that it was all good. Standard refresh is all that was needed!

To recap, i currently have an iron housing 355 diff in the car, new exedy clutches, billet planetary and qa1 carbon drive shaft in hand. Got some super top secret forced induction related fab work coming up shortly. Ill build the trans at the same time. Stay tuned!
Can't wait, always look forward to reading the updates. Keep at it man - this is one baaaad biotch!

It appears that the drivetrain failure caused some hard crash codes due to vibration. Codes are stored in the SDM and monitors/controls airbag function. It is possible to send the SDM module to a 3rd party vendor to clear. To bypass any issues related to that, i decided to purchase a new SDM module via @LevittownFordParts . Always great prices and notification of availability. I got my Predator block and all timing components from them and have been pleased with their prices and forum support. Anyways, the SDM is located under the center console. In this area is exactly where the broken driveshaft hit the tunnel. Essentially the car thinks it has been in a crash. We will program the new SDM with the cars VIN and off we go.

Just noticed the console is broken from the event. When i replace the SDM, ill snap more detailed pics.

The official name of the module above is RCM, restraint control module. That is how its labeled within the Rotunda software. It controls airbags and records crash hard codes. Today, my pal Ray and I programmed the RCM, cleared hard crash codes and programmed the new trans. The replacement 6r80 needs the valve body code entered into the As Built program.

The case of the RCM was broken. There was surface mount components detached from the PCB... The inside of the center console was broken...

The inner bucket of the console is bonded to the large lower section of the console. Since the bucket was destroyed, a replacement was necessary. Snagged a complete console from fleabay for $100 shipped.

Man. I would’ve entirely shit my pants if I was next to the car when that happened.
I dont stand anywhere near a car on the dyno. Lots of energy there.

Initially I planned to use this block without sleeves. Ultimately the piston to bore clearance was too tight for my application hence the need for sleeves. The liner is said to have a .003 thickness and honing is not advisable.

So, if you plan to run a PTWA block without sleeves on your build have your machine shop map out the bore diameters. Then order the pistons to achieve the wall clearance you need.
What did your final piston to wall clearance end up being?
