I talked tl them since 2 years.
It is taking a lot of time...
Wonder if we could adapt the 10L90 pan to ours.. We would have fixed over heating issues

Is the 10L90 a deeper pan? If the design and bolt pattern is the same it should be a compatible swap.

I wonder how this will pan out? +1.9 qt and 1.5" deeper I think means 1/2" lower to the ground than the frame rails. I think that is OK. When I add the big Derale cooler it is +1 qt too. So the combo big pan and big cooler can be +3 qts. When PML was looking for info I sent them dimensions. I hope they let me beta test the pan. I told them I was racing only so would put the pan through it's paces. I'm also lowered over -2.5" from stock so if the pan is too low I should find out pretty quick. I also reminded them to make sure the vertical walls of the new pan that somewhere we are able to drill and tap for at least a size 10 AN bung for an external oil cooler since we do not have a 100% universally accepted solution to keep the A10 cool under all conditions. If we do not solve the internal bypass issue and oem lines cooler flow we could use the tranny fill point as a return and tap the pan to send hot oil to a cooler with an external pump like most of us do for the differential.

Have you heard back anything recently from PML? Any ideas as to why it’s taking so long to bring it from development to production?

It's been already 2 years.
I don't think it will happen soon.
And we do have already a solution to adapt.
The METAL and slighlty deeper pan of the 10L90.
i still can't believe ford put a composite pan for a 10 gears transmission..

I have not seen anyone install a 10L90 pan onto a 10R80 (yet). Is there any difference at all in the pan bolt patterns or form? Is it a direct bolt on with no internal interferences?

I would be interested to know that as well. At this point, with the 10R80, if it holds another quarter or or 2 of fluid it's already an improvement over stock and I would be more than happy to purchase one.

Unfortunately it appears is not direct replacement.
More than 1 extra qaurt the main differemce is...is METAL so way more heat dissipation.

What were they thinking when they put a plastic pan in our cars? :lipssealed::frown::headbang::facepalm: It should've been metal to begin with or at least be offered as an option from ford racing or something. What a nightmare.

Yeah a metal finned pan or one with some heat sinks mounted would dissipate heat.
