From what I was told you change run smaller injectors due to the 2018 mustangs DI. I’m adding a whipple gen 5 with a custom tune. Looking for around 775-850whp on e85

should I get 1000cc or 1050x injectors?

Both are virtually similar, the IDs are 1065cc and the others 1000cc...not much difference in flow rate.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but is there a reason everyone goes 1050x? If DW 95lb or FIC 1000's flow virtually identical and are half the cost, why spend the extra money? Are they harder to tune?

I would personally check with who will be tuning the car to see which injectors they recommend and are most comfortable tuning. We've had great results with the ID's and have a ton of customers that run the DW and FIC injectors with great results but again it's something I'd recommend talking to your tuner about before making the purchase.

When you've got that figured out give us a shout and we'll be able to set you up with the best pricing and customer service on them. Guaranteed!!

Thanks!

When I spoke with a supplier they stated IDs are better for E 85 because they have a stainless body

I ran the FIC1000's for almost a year at 1000whp. Now I have the 1650's I believe and still on E with no problems

Paying for the name I believe is a lot of it.
Also I think the FIC's actually are rated higher. They base it off 1000cc @43psi and I believe ID is at 1050@50psi. Don't remember the exact calculation of how much CC increases per psi.
I'll go check here in a little on this again

Talk to your tuner and ask what they recommend. That is the best advice to give you, If they tell you FIC go with them. If they tell you ID or DW go with them. In the end tuning to what they are used to working with will only reduce tuning time and maximize the quality of the tune. Seeking advice elsewhere is a waste of time.

Both the 1000cc and 1050x will support over 1000whp on e85, so it does not matter which you go with. I went with a DW95 on mine, and on 12psi of boost with differential pressure of 50psi my IDC's are barely 45%...The DI system is running around 45% blend on the top end still. These injectors will support more power than most peoples wallets can afford to build their engine too.
