Not sure if anyone else has posted this yet, but I found it interesting!

10 Speed Auto Transmission (10R80) now listed under the Transmission drop down menu for the "2015+" Mustang in Microcat (parts lookup system at Ford dealerships). Should be coming soon!

Iv said it before. I had the 8 speed dual clutch tranny in my 2015 Acura and it sucked. Sure, it shifted fast but when you were on the freeway and stomped it (8th) the things would shift down 3-4 times before any acceleration... up to 2 seconds. Drove me nuts. I'll take a fast 6 speed any day of the year.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure why people think more gears the better.... It's all done for fuel economy obviously, likely to be heavier and more complicated design...

That's part transmission and part transmission tuning. There are single clutch and dual clutch automatics that shift incredibly fast.

Had a 7 speed DCT in my 2015 M3. That thing was absolutely a beast. Best auto I've ever driven.

Sooo.... the 10 speed is coming to the 2017 models or the 2018??

My guess is 2018 since the order guide is out for 2017 and no sign of it?

I agree with what you said although I'm not sure of the weight part. You may be shifting more but with the right tranny tuning/ratios you should be in the power bad more often.

My wife's Jeep has a 9 speed transmission and it's fine. I've driven the newer GM 8 Speeds and they are great as well. Looking forward to the 10 speed.
