Not the be-all and end-all but any predictions on 0-60 times? I'm guessing around 5.8 sec for Eco and 4.8 for GT?

Good grief, I hope not. The current GT does it in 4.3-4.4. I certainly hope it didn't get slower...

If they've managed to eliminate the wheel hop (wasted energy), and with the expected broadening of the torque curve, additional rear weight bias and launch control, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it is faster than the outgoing model. I'm going to guess 4.1 seconds.

Yep, I take your point but I read a while back that Ford is hoping to get the European GT under 5 secs, which implies just under! Are the European cars de-tuned or something? Be annoyed if that's the case!

Gosh, yeah, that's interesting. I really hope our friends across the pond get the same performance we do!

Ha ha, not sure if that's sarcasm! It could be that the massive elephant ear like wing mirrors on European Mustangs will cause so much drag as to knock off 0.5 sec from the sprint to 60!

LOL..

The Mustang GT is a ~4.5s car... all day.

And I suspect the EB to be @ 5.3~5.4'ish..

The modular 3V GT did 0-60 in 5.0-5.3 seconds in magazine tests with 300 HP and 320 lb-ft of torque. The 2010 GT was at 315/325 and did a little better than the 05-09 models at 4.9.

Those GTs weighed roughly 3500 lbs, give or take.

The new Ecoboost produces similar figures (310/320) and weighs close to those cars. Of course we have to factor in the improvements in the chassis and design, and we need to see the graph of those numbers to see where this engine makes its power.

My admittedly uneducated (and somewhat optimistic) guess for the Ecoboost would be 5.0 - 5.1 seconds.

I think the new GT will, with the weight increase, come in close to the current car's number.

My 2013 runs a 4.4 even in the summer. The 2015 should be right there. Traction is an issue for sure.

But in Europe the Focus RS has only 300bhp but is lighter than the mustang and so the bhp per tonne is similar to Eco Mustang. That hits 60 in about 5.8, granted the focus is front wheel drive but 5.0 for Eco Mustang? Not sure

Well the Boss 302 has been clocked between 3.9 and 4.1. I would hope it's in that range.

Current V6 Performance pack with 3.31 gears does 0-60 in 5.8. I'd expect with the 3.15 gears it might do it in a little more and with the 3.55 gears it'll do it in a little less.

So, I think mid 5's (5.3 to 5.5ish) for the ecoboost with performance pack is realistic. It'll have a much flatter torque curve than the V6, but it weighs about the same etc. so I figure they won't be too far apart.

may i suggest this
european times are 0-100 km/h, not 0-60mph (which is 96 km/h) (exception great britain, they do have miles not Kilometers)
so in Europe you have to reach 62,15, which is a Little more than 4 percent more
now depending on the gearing: if the 2 gear is just up to 60 or 61 to get impressive 0-60mph figures, you would have the upshift from 2nd to 3rd (i.e. loss of time)... to reach 62,15 mph (i.e. 100km/h)...

I sure hope so....Consistent 4.1's would be nice.

yes, a fair point but I'm talking about GB where we generally have 0-60 rather than the 0-100km/h, which they have on the continent.
