Dark horse has forged internals and different cams. It’s supposedly tuned to output over 500hp. Definitely not a Mach1.
500 HP is no big deal over 480. And when the current internals take 1000+ I don't care if they are forged or not.

I think the headlights are the biggest deviation from all other previous Mustangs. They really don't look like anything 6G. They don't look bad IMO, and give it a unique look. The tail lights don't look bad to me either.

The exterior of the 7G looks better to me initially than the 6G refresh in 2018 looked.
They look like a 15-17 that's squinting.

The 15-17 headlights are the best looking out of all. That's why the GT350/500 looks so good.

chevy puts it into both manual and automatic. I never thought Ford would do this to there engines. I actually left the camaro/corvette scene because of the modern small block. I guess we should be lucky the new 5.0L still has some port injection.
Chevy did it on the Corvette C7 for the manual but the Gen 6 Camaro only had it on the autos. The LT1 may have still had the AFM hardware but if so it was turned off.

Yea I know they did it for the manual C7 because mine had it 😄

Regardless of what anyone thinks cylinder deactivation, direct injection, and start/stop add complexity and hurt long term reliability. Of course most people are clueless to this so it won`t effect sales.

You‘ve hit the nail on the head for me. If there’s anything I hate more on a performance vehicle than [needless] complexity I cannot tell you what it might be. In addition to the long term reliability issues you cite, it’s things like having to negotiate through a touch screen to change a climate control setting while you’re going down the road. Why wouldn’t a simple button or switch do just fine?

This is why I love my new ‘22 301a coupe so much. Nothing but AE and BAP but I think the interior is plenty nice. And while yes, there are some complexities it’s nowhere near as fiddly as it looks like the ‘24s will be. I mean, what’s next, a flat screen TV with a mobile satellite dish on the roof?

And before the OF comments start flying, yes I’ll admit that probably has a lot to do with it. But wow, the joy of simplicity!

My 5th Gen Camaro SS had the dreaded AFM and I had it tuned out and swore I'd never buy a car with it again. :)

I hope you're kidding.

Anyways it'll 'grow on you' so you can justify paying a stupid amount of money for something that's hideous. DARKHORSE should have been called BOSS. Moot anyways cause the 500 herspers isn't street legal.

Look at the 15-17 headlights, then tell me these dont look like its squinting.

Also yes.... it is street legal, the S and R are not street legal. The normal version IS.

They look like they are squinting, but far from the 2015-2017 design. Six small headlights vs two ... about as different as you could get.

My mistake. That est doesn't stand for Eastern Standard Time.
5.0L/500-hp (est)/425-lb-ft (est) DOHC 32-valve V-8

Bet me production will be <500 with a MSRP of $62K+USD price tag.

I'm clearly not talking about the internal design and am talking about the housing shape. Don't be obtuse.
