There will most likely be quite a few EV Mustang Coupes, but I doubt the internal combustion engine will be absent from the S650.

I don't think any current battery will be able to supply 700+ Kw's of power for more than a few fractions of a second.

I think they are rating the power like the old pyramid car stereo power boosters back in the 70's.
Awesome statement.

If they could hold two people, then yes.
And a golf cart isn't a firkin car.
but if they are gas powered? Just following the logic.

I would love to play around on the street in a car with >600 tq at the crack of the throttle without having to build RPMs.

Except the ICE engine builds torque the EV loses TQ as RPM builds.

Electric motor max torque is at 0 RPM

I agree thats why on the street it would be stupid fun. Instant tq to throw your body into the seat at takeoff. Torque is more important to get car out of hole then HP takes over to get you to finish line.

As The Great Reset gets into high gear starting tomorrow at 12:00ET, there will be a lot of changes many won't "approve" of. It's not going to be easy from here on out for many. As far as the Mustang, it either goes EV or just plain goes away. Same with the Corvette. And Camaro.

The sooner the better for an all EV Mustang.

And a Tesla is not an automobile...anymore than a golf kart.

And an electric only mustang won't be either.

I'm fixin' to buy a '7 1 Mach w/ 3514V. That'll show em.

Sometimes you can't even imagine what sources an article relys on. This has to be some kind of "I just need a hot topic to get some clicks!"

I am pretty sure that Gen 8 will be electric. But Gen 7 definitely will offer ICEs and at least a Hybrid model.

I agree with you Ace. S650 will definitely have ICE and likely hybrid options.........S750/8th Gen is where we'll see the EV.

As for the source, this is why it's odd they're call this the "next gen in 2028". The source is Auto Forecast Solutions and their job is to forecast who's going to be build what/where/when. So they're a solid source but I think something isn't being reported correctly as we know........or at least we think we know, S650 is coming next year!!

Maybe I'm a little uninformed but I know the Ecoboost doesn't sound like a V8 and you can tell the sound of a V6 mustang. How will or can the make an EV sound like a real pony car? After getting a ticket for speeding recently and 6 points on my driving record. I care more about the sound.

Me personally, not into the electric/autonomous vehicles now and most likely for many more years.
With that said... if I ever make it to 90 years old and can no longer drive, I think I would love to be able to climb into a car and say "Take me to ______" and just sit back and enjoy the ride.
The best part will be when you forget why you told the car to take you there
