Autoline Daily reporting on the "next gen" Mustang again.

They're still claiming the "next gen" won't appear until 2028..........and when it does it'll be EV only!

4m 30secs

http://www.autoline.tv/?fbclid=IwAR2gQpzXHe-v6GAdRafFKcNDF2aY3dZDOM2qYKVwK_sIp0YDKovaUpiTRVw

Something definitely doesn't add up though........S650 should be here in under 2 years ('23MY in 2022).......so why do Autoline daily think we won't see anything new until 2028? The EV bit? I can actually believe that, sadly.

Considering a couple manufacturers Tesla and Lucid are already coming out with 1000 plus hp/tq all electric awd luxury sedans that run sub 10 second quarters w/ 500 mile ranges Ford better getty up a tad.

Tesla Plaid
Lucid Air

look those up...

Two completely different experiences. I always felt Teslas were just fast appliances not cars. There is more to a car than just raw numbers. Just my humble opinion...YMMV.

Yeah, I don't mind, personally. I'm not ready for an EV today (or EVs are not ready for me.) And that's why I'm getting my MY 2021 Mustang. And I organically don't like Tesla. But going forward... I hope by the time I'll be choosing my next car, EVs will be a mainstream and there will be a plenty of options to choose from. And hopefully at least some of them will be as good as today's Mustangs.

As long as it's a proper pony car Mustang (2+2 seating/long nose/short tail/fastback or convertible) I welcome an EV version. It'll be a sad day when you can no longer buy a Mustang with a V8, but we know its coming eventually.

Personally, I'd like to see the EV version sold alongside the V8, but if they're going to build a pure EV Mustang, it would make sense that its new from the ground up.

I still want to see a hybrid (especially if its a V8 with electric assist) for S650 though.

Horse pucky.

And a Tesla is not an automobile...anymore than a golf kart.

And an electric only mustang won't be either.

I'm fixin' to buy a '7 1 Mach w/ 3514V. That'll show em.
