"THIS IS MY OPINION"
Was gonna say "These are the Facts" but I don't feel like starting a Thread/Post War-->
addle:
Dig for the pros & cons below, I'm not the best at expressing myself in a post!
I originally installed a SW Cat-Back-H on my GT PP LE AT.
Sold it because it was too loud in the cabin in the 1800-2200 RPM range (DRONE) I know others have claimed "NO DRONE"-->
SW sounded great outside the cabin, Low Rumble at idle with some Raspiness on acceleration & was definitely louder in all rpm ranges than the ARH.
Purchased & Installed ARH CB-H.
It doesn't have DRONE at any Speed/RPM + it has a Lower Rumble at idle (exhaust note is slightly lower in Frequency)...I would call it more "Adult Sounding" (Yes I said that!!
)...With the windows rolled up it almost mirrors the stock exhaust, sound wise-->QUIET.
I drove/tested on I-80 Lincoln->Omaha->Lincoln (apx 115 Miles) I set the cruise at 60 MPH and increased by 1 MPH every couple of miles up to 80 MPH & back down, to check dBs...
At every speed with Stock & ARH You can carry on a normal conversation, not with the SW.
Get on the throttle (ARH) it lets ya know you're driving a V8, W/O advertising, I have an obnoxious sounding exhaust...Nothing wrong with LOUD EXHAUST (SW)...Just not MY cup of ____ for the Street!
I'm after a "Low Frequency-Rumbly-Growly-Tone" not (((VOLUME)))
The ARH Cat-Back-H Pipe is the perfect exhaust for-->"ME"
Bottom line, Both are delivering the goods. If ya want a good low rumbly idle sound, both are a winner.
If ya want a little more volume, SW is the way to go.
If ya want a more Mellow Rumble + Quieter Cabin, ARH is the way to go.
The SW is way more simple/easy to install.
The ARH doesn't come with instructions. You have to figure out where the pipes go, plus they hang down more than the Stock or SW (I'm concerned they may snag)(see pic below)...was told it would be easy...Well, ARH please label the pipes or include instructions that show which way the H-Pipe goes (Up-Down?) and which pipes goes where...Not fun under Jack-Stands!
I'll let this thread know my feelings after about another 1-2K miles.
