I'm in love with those rims. Also, that rear diffuser looks like it's going to be sexy as hell... plus, pretty sure I can fit my fists in those exhaust tips, so it passes the Car Throttle test ;)
I notice that the place holder for the cobra emblem looks to be covered a bit. I bet the front end won't look like that in the end. They must be covering it with pieces that won't be on the final version.
I don’t think some of you are seeing how well this camo is working at hiding everything. The only thing I can’t tell is the fender vents. Could be that’s reserved for the top model, but this car is looking wide and nasty.
This could be a '19 or 20 GT350.
The GT350 needs to be caught up... the GT's dual injection system (a system being quickly adopted, even the 1.5l 3 cylinder has it now) would add some much needed HP and torque. And the GT350 needs to be positioned better as an intermediate step between the GT and the GT500. Right now it's engine has become just a slight step above the GT's (in market perception, we know there are other benefits), and from there it's a huge gap of over 200 HP (maybe 225) up to the GT500.
Then there is the Camaro ZL1, with another 125 HP (and better suspension components, along with the perf data recorder), where for all but the same price you get a whole lot more. As it stands now, the GT350 is not price competitive in the market... it just costs too much.
And if the GT500 is to be priced competitively with the Camaro ZL1 (as the Z/28 and older GT500 were), then the GT500 needs to be low 60s. Which runs right over the GT350 and leaves little point for it to exist.
Ford has put itself in a dilemma.
Throw a spoiler on it and away you go. If Ford's objective is to make the GT500 a hotter version of the GT350....it makes sense to do exactly what they appear to be doing.
Obviously trim, spoiler and other effects will have an impact. Not sure where brake duct openings behind front wheels are...or if there will be any. The truth be known the GT350 has a very cool looking hood slope and face (largely due to Shelby Stripes, a little magic with some fins and blackout...and the rest is very much "day to day" Mustang (sides and rear end). The mechanicals were the story...with lots of kudos for track performance (R) and flat plane crank. Ford managed to create a car that was greater than the sum of its parts. The GT500 should build on the "hits" and correct any flaws from the 350. I LOVE the look of the 350 and i am very happy if they make subtle changes to the 500 while kicking ass with the mechanicals.
