Hey guys. I just bought my 2018 Lightning Blue 10r80 Mustang. It has the 3.15 gears. Once it gets going it moves out but if you just punch it from a idle it is lazy until it gets to about 4500rpm. It looks like the stock converter only flashes to about 2000 rpm. My 2014 6r80 with 3.15s and stock converter i would say was worse but once i installed a circle D it was awesome. I was just wondering what your guys thoughts where with the 3.15s. Im in Oklahoma and going to baseline her tomorrow night at the track. It will be about 95°. Going to be hot and not great weather for great times but we will get a baseline before i start my build.

3.55's here, and mine is lazy out of the hole. A higher stall converter would be a great improvement. AFAIK there are none available for the 10R80.

Put the shifter in Drive and disable Advancetrac by holding the traction control toggle up for ~8 seconds.

Now the rear tires will smoke and hop when you go full throttle from a dig. That never felt lazy to me. My best launches are when I stall it to ~1800 RPM and slow roll the throttle. Flashing the converter just made mad wheel hop on the stock rear suspension.

Cheers,

Yea mine felt lazy until I turned off advancetrac, now I struggle to get traction, squirrely all the was to 60. It feels lazy because the computer is cutting power due to traction issues. 18gt, auto with 3.15 rear end also. With the crap pirelli stock tires I can get 4.5 0-60 on the car timer, stock tire pressure spinning all the way to 60.

I ran the car at the track. Ran a 11.830 @ 118.6 with a 1.84 60 foot with advancetrac off. Still came out of the hole lazy. With a 118.6 trap speed the car should run 11.5 The cars I've seen running 11.5 @ 118.5 usually have a 1.6 60 foot. These cars have higher stall converters. A higher stall converter should take 3 to 4 tenths off my et.

What rear tire are you on?

The gear is not the problem. 3.55 car are also sluggish out of the hole stock.

The problem reside within the stock tune. Among other things the timing in the low rev range his ridiculously low. With just bolt ons including a agressive tune this car is sick!!

Need to wait for a aftermarket converter to get out of the hole better. Not out yet!

I am running 3:15's on my car as well. Sometimes my car will feel kind of lazy off the line. Last week I spoke to Lethal Performance and was advised to go with a 4C Converter.
