I've got my car on order; thinking of getting some alternate rims for non-track / daily driving. PPK2 is what I've got on the order...

Thinking of AR924 in 20x10.5 and 20x9, as they have a similar look to the PPK2 wheels that I like, but are a bit slimmer so easier to fit all season tires to without undersizing, and they're 20" so they might look good(er) - to that, I'm not entirely settled on the wheels since they are similar, but, is what I like for now.

Rear, I'm thinking of putting on 295/30R20 on them, which overall will be .4" more radius, but, will also be .4" thinner than stock. Would it clear? Likely less or no poke, I imagine. Some of that of course depends on the offset of the PPK2 wheels vs what I end up with, but I'd be surprised if they are different than the PPK1 wheels short of adjusting for the additional width.

Front, I'm thinking 245/35R20, which is quite different than stock, but is about the same as 295/30R20 in terms of dimensions, I suspect these will be just fine up front, maybe even need some spacers.

Thoughts?

In my humble opinion I'd suggest not getting 20" wheels. I've driven the current gen mustang with the 20" wheel options - rode like it was on rolling rocks. 30 sidewall sounds even more brutal. Definitely would never go below 35.

Currently sitting on light weight 20Ă—10/20Ă—11 on 285/35 and 315/35 respectively with a mild drop. Ride is still smooth compared to prev vehicles I have had. As long as you are not sacrificing performance with heavier wheels it can be an option.

I would go 305/30 and 265/35 with those wheel sizes OP. That will keep the diameters pretty much identical front to back and those widths will work perfect for the wheels you chose.

I'm running 305/30/20 and 285/30/20 on my car and love the setup. Most 35 series tires look too big for my taste...

I was considering going 30 once I need another set of tires due to that. How's your ride quality on the smaller profile?

I have the same set up. Not stiff or bumpy at all either. Like you said, as long as you're not going with a heavier wheel, it makes no difference.

And with the 35 series tire for those widths, it's still a beefy tire. I get compliments all the time on the look and people can't tell it's a 20 inch wheel.

Slight change, went with AMR Dark Stainless; which are a bit less wide; 20x10 and 20x8.5. Tires, I'm figuring that 255/35 and 295/30; specifically Nitto or Toyo depending on if I can get a decent deal (though, I also found that Nitto = Toyo = Nitto, so not matter much)

Was it fully stock suspension on the 20" package? It would probably be a little rougher on a PP car. The 20" and PP1 have similar chassis setups.

I find it a surprisingly smooth ride but my past 3 cars have been German. So it might just be what I'm used to.

Considering the ppk2 wheels are 305/30r19, I find your concerns a bit if a stretch. No offense intended, just I'm not really seeing much difference; and I admit that can be ignorance on my part.

Going to 295/30R20 is 0.1" less sidewall width, and the car will sit 0.4" higher. I figure it should be good :)

I have those wheels and I went with a set of Federal 595 Evo, 255/30/20 and 285/30/20. Ride is pretty much the same as the 255/35 and 305/35 BF Goodrich Comp 2 AS but WAY better grip dry and as good grip in the rain. I got all 4 tires for less than $500 shipped off ebay.
