Actually the limited edition 50th anniversary edition mustangs. I mean the numbered ones came with every option. The autos came with 355s, pp including 6 piston brembos. Find one on autotrader and check it out!

It's a discussion. So any point however small is worth it to those participating. To those who don't care, it's ok to not participate.

However, I think this is s rather unknown quantity until this exact conbo is compared on the strip.

The difficult thing about that is that mustangs respond so well to tuning. So it may be a surprising result.

my 2017 cali special A6 with 3.55's a catback and Ford Perf Pack 2 has gone 12.6 @ 113 @ 4060lbs so I would say the 18 is faster

Guys there is a new youtube video of a new gt with basic boltons without intake manifold modification running 11.0X I don’t remember what the exact time was. With IM’s and full bolt ons the new 10 speeds should dip in 10’s. That’s pretty amazing.

If they are both running 93 octane, the 18 GT all day. If the "tune only" 15-17 can run an E85 tune, it may keep it close, but my money would still be on the 18. The stonger motor and gearing advantage makes for a quick stock car with the new GTs.

Let me try and clear up my questions as follows:LOL
2018 Ford Mustang GT,Factory Stock Auto with Performance Package.
VS
2017 Ford Mustang Gt Auto with 3:55 gears and after market tune.
I'd say it'd be close, but depends on what tune is used.

If you use Ford Power Pack numbers (for sake of warranty) they claim +13 peak hp for Pack 1 giving the '17 GT 448 hp. Power Pack 2 makes +21 peak hp for 456 hp.

So it seems PP 2 would make it a close match.

I've read that the 3:15/Auto is quicker than the 3:55 in the 1/4. At least as it applies to the 15-17.

My old automatic 2016 GT with kooks catless LTH's, pmas intake, awe exhaust and lund 93 oct tune doesn't feel as fast as my new stock 2018 gt with the 10 speed transmission.

Id say that a tuned 15-17 would be a drivers race with the stock 18 in the 1/4. I’ve seen em go 12.1 with good DA. I’d expect similar times out of your average joe in an 18. The 18 will have a sizable advantage in trap speed. So any roll races the 18 will pull away.

I did a 60mph roll with a 630+rwhp '16 GT PP with Roush blower, long tubes, full exhaust, etc the other night. He was about 5 cars out when we shut them down (130mph?). It shocked everyone it wasn't cruise ship lengths including me.
