I'm not concerned about the sidemarkers not lighting up, our stock orange ones don't light up either. Just wanted to get rid of that orange and have it look more 'seamless', and smoked sidemarkers are working beautifully with magnetic paint.

^^^ I'm showing my ignorance here but how do you actually get the foam on the car like that? I have a Karcher pressure cleaner but I genuinely don't know how to do that.

Maybe it's about time I found out - any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Take a look through here http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40532 - the last couple of pages discuss the snow foam attachments

I think I might get the $30 bunnings attachment and see how I go. Can't hurt to try it

Honestly I think you should just put the money towards
https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/autobrite/ab_snow_foam_lance

With my Gerni I got a free foam sprayer similar to the $30 bunnings one, it really didn't do much. There is a night and day difference between the two products

Whole concept is for the foam to work free the dirt and contaminants on the paint and trap it within the foam, then as the foam slowly slides off the car it carries the dirt with it preventing it from being dragged across the paint when you go to wash it. Only works to a certain degree as severely heavy or baked on dirt is tough to get off, it's great for dust and if your into frequently washing your car.

I've ended up buying both the $30 Karcher attachment and the Concours one from waxit, the Karcher does what it says on the packet but the foam it produces is nowhere near the same volume/thickness as what the Concours one does. The Karcher one isn't as effective for a proper snow foam wash as the foam isn't half as thick as what the Concours one produces.

I use the Autobrite snow foam lance in conjunction with Autobrite MagiFoam. The amount of crap that you can see dripping off in the foam is incredible.

I have the smallest Gerni and it works great (you can also get them to fit Karcher).

I also have a Gerni Auto nozzle for rinsing which is much gentler on the paint than the standard nozzles.

Before I blow $145 on the concours stage 2 kit, how much dirt does the foam actually remove?

Also you're a bad influence ;)
haha I am a bad influence, It does remove a bit of dirt but it is a pre wash, you will still need to go over the car again. My car never really gets super dirty so its hard to tell, but I hope that it helps to decrease scratches when washing

GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING!!

I apologies for the footage you are about to see. This is the result of driving back from Melbourne in what seemed liked a mini hurricane for 7 hours. I'll wait till I've done my other trip in November and then get it resprayed.

Ouch Phil. I would be distraught!

Suppose it's only paint! I had a few large chips that actually left small dents on my trip Bathurst in February. Fortunately they have been touched up ok.

After seeing your video I think i might invest in a car bra!!!

Just curious did you happen to follow any vehicles for extended periods? And this was on the Hume?

Hi Phil,

Did you consider getting 3m Film protection?? Not sure if this would have provided enough protection but have read some people swear by this.
Cost around $1600 for the whole front (bonnet, guards and bumper).
