Greetings All:

Has anyone experience mounting a fire extinguisher in one of these? Electric seats, maybe?

There's something called "The Bracketeer," but I'm not finding many options. Thanks if you can help.

Visit a Porsche independent shop and they can order you a bracket that attaches to the rail bolt at the front of the seat. Nice setup, passenger side is best.

I use this. much safer (no chance of 7LB fire extinguisher becoming a projectile in a crash), much lighter (1/2 LB vs. 7LB for a 5LB extinguisher), longer lasting (no expiration, 50 seconds instead of <10 seconds) and cheaper (no $100 mount).

80% of our w2w race series now uses these instead of a handheld.

That looks really interesting. Sounds like better-than-conventional. Thanks again.

I ordered and installed on from speed tactics . It mounts using a bracket that attaches to the front of either front seat. Looks great and does not interfere with any thing

The Speed Tactics one is the best mounting option I've seen.

However $90+ for a metal bracket is ridiculous. I made the same bracket out of an old street sign in 30mins. I'll post a photo of it here later on and can post the measurements of the bracket if anybody wants them, not hard at all to make.

I'm another user of the Speed Tactics flat mount. Only recommendation is that you secure the lock-out pin with something that is easily removable, but that stops it from rattling. Otherwise the mount is very secure and unobtrusive.

Installs by just removing the two rectangular caps covering the front seat bolts, then take out the bolts using a T-50 bit, slide the bracket in place under the seat brackets and reinstall the bolts.

Here's a pic of it installed under the front two bolts of the passenger seat....

I used the bracket and quick release mount from Brey Krause. Bolts to bottom of seat on either side and moves with the seat. Well built and pricey but worth it.

Has anybody tried the Speed Tactics BEHIND the passenger seat? There's definitely room and when strapped down tight in the driver's seat would be far easier to reach.

I thought about doing this as well. Please post pictures when you get a chance. Thanks.

It only weighs 1/2 LB, lighter than similar sized flashlight. You can use the plastic bracket it comes with. Because of the weight, it just clips in and donā€™t come off.

They also sell roll bar mount, I donā€™t think is needed even in a race car. Some use off road flashlight holder. Works just fine because of the weight.

In few of my street car, I just throw one in glove compartment.

I hate 5LB extinguisher. They are super dangerous using most mounts. There is a reason roll bar mount for race car cost $100+, they need to be super sturdy so extinguisher donā€™t become a dangerous projectile in a crash
