Im planning on running a squared wheel setup and need longer studs to run spacers up front. Ive reached a slight dilema. What is the advantage of the Ford Performance hub assemblies over standard S550 hubs with ARP studs? Is there anything actually better about the ford performance hubs with ARP studs?

Found a good deal on new standard hubs with aRP studs installed here:
https://www.opmustang.com/store/p12..."_ARP_EXTENDED_STUD_FRONT_WHEEL_HUB_KIT_.html

Or buy 4 new Ford Performance hubs for an additional $200...
Are Ford Performance hubs really that mich better?

Those hubs won't fit a GT350. It has a different front hub than the rest of the S550 lineup. Not only that, those front studs have 1/2" studs installed, and the S550 takes an M14x1.5 metric stud, which is quite a bit beefier.

Your choices are to buy loose ARP studs from Ford Performance or from an ARP retailer and have them installed in your existing hubs, or to buy GT350R front hubs from a Ford dealer. They used to be HUB-299 but there's a new part number for them.

The FP rear hubs will fit a GT350, but if you're running square with 11" rims, you don't need them at the rear - there's no rear spacer so the stock rear studs are long enough.

so this means you can rotate from front to rear as well? no more burning up single pairs...
Correct. Plus I have heard that having the wider 305s upfront handle better than the stock 295 series tire.

i'm a noob at this... will the wider front width affect steering? eg. more rotational mass, tramlining...

No, it shoud not. The GT350R comes with 305's in the front and 315's in the rear. The GT350 comes with 295's front, 305 rear.

Will the 305s fit and run okay on the standard gt350 front wheel? Looks like they should.

maybe. but one of the reasons to do a squared set up is tire rotations.

I want to get all 4 wheels and tires the same size, which requires front spacers and longer wheel studs.

I bought GT350R front hubs for mine because I didn't want to mess with my OEM hubs just in case I ever want to go back. Part number is FR3Z-1109-A and it was about $250 shipped.

I like to disassemble things.
Not to remove the hubs. To properly install studs into the hubs you should use a press though (such as ARP, MSI, etc).
