Can you get any TR6060 for core charge or does it have to be the GT500? Just curious since there are some very cheap Vette 6060's out there
Unfortunately the C5, C6, and C7 transmissions on the Vettes are rear mounted near the rear diff and cannot be used in the Mustang. I believe only the GT500 tranny will work.

Quick question:

For the MGW shifter; is the Standard or Extended handle length recommended? I like the height of my current MGW race spec handle but wasn't sure how this new setup sits in our S550's

Thanks
Didn't know there was an option. I just ordered the GT500 conversion shifter from George. The handle I have is screwed about 3/4 of the way down and sits about the same as the old MGW did with the MT82. The only issue I had was the handle contacted the adapter plate on a hard shift into second...nothing a die grinder didn't take care of. Great shifting experience now.

I am pretty sure a ZL1 one will work but the bellhousing needs swapped to fit a ford...which basically is the front of the case...so really doesn't save much.

Duh. Didn't think of that. Thanks for the heads up!

TR6060 users, what differential gear ratio did you go with? I'm on a 28.6" tire (street) and 28" (drag) so I'm hung up between 3.73s, 3.91s and 4.10s. I see the track maybe once every other month so definitely more city/ hwy driving. Shooting for 800 rwhp soon. Would love to hear input

700 rwhp 6060 with 4.11 gears here. 75mph 6th gear roughly 1850 rpm netted 26 mpg
3.73's sucked with the 6060 IMHO

What is your tire size? For a 28" tire, 75 mph is roughly 2300 rpm per ratio calculators. Perhaps you meant 65 mph?

My 3.73 was 1600 ish @ 75. I'm going down to a 3.0.

Edit not sure how tall my tire was. 345/35/19

That doesn't seem right either. Your tire is 28.5" and at 75 mph, the tremec calc is showing 2100 rpm. Is your tuner properly adjusting the speedometer?

Nope 2.97 first in the 6060. Speed o matched to my oss signal in 4th using the dakota digital box. Then verified with two gps apps and radar detector. Now this was a few months ago but I know I was well under 2100 @ 75.

But back to you original ?. I was happy with the 3.73 and 6060 with my Whipple setup. Yes 6th is useless on the highway in terms of acceleration but that is NOT what 6th is for. Awesome for cruising tho.

IMO stay with your 3.73. Much better street manners.

Appreciate your feedback but I'm getting more concerned now not knowing which is correct. Math never lies unless the gear ratios we've been told is incorrect (1st: 2.97 | 2nd: 1.78 | 3rd: 1.30 | 4th: 1.00 | 5th: 0.80 | 6th: 0.63). If the tremec calc are correct, I'm considering 4.10s where it'll put me around 2000 rpm in 6th at 65 mph. On slicks (28"), I'd be crossing the 1/4 mile nearly 6900 rpm in 4th assuming 140 mph trap. I swapped my 373s with 3.31s which were perfect for mt-82 but the 373s with tr6060 seem to short of a ratio now.

gear ratios you have are incorrect
2.97, 1.78, 1.30, 1, .74, .5 are factory 6060 ford ratios

The gear ratios of the 6060's varied depending on the year. Some had the .63 OD where others had the .50. That's a big difference in gearing for cruising.

I'm confirming with Ben. You may be very much correct where we are purchasing these tr6060s not knowing which final gears we are getting. I was told the 2007-2010 tr6060 where the gearing is what I specified.
