Aftermarket Stereo Install/Dash Kit for the S550 (soon)

Interesting, Schosche couldn't get the push button AC controls to work properly, so a touch screen is now introduced? Touch screen would be more problematic to engineer one would think?

who knows, maybe its easier to map the software? or they just ended up using different hardware from a different supplier cause of issues? only thing ive seen of it has been ebay and amazon listings, nothing official that i could find.

I saw it on soniceloctronics website too. The split touch screen makes me think that it is for premium models with dual climate control. I already switched to the Metra kit after 3 failed scosche kits

seen that kit as well anyone know anything about it?

how do you like the metra kit? i had the same failure with scosche as well

Can anyone help me figure out if this or any other 8" Alpine unit will fit with the Metra dash kit??

they are for 7" screens and under, so no..........

That's what I was afraid of, but I haven't seen it stated anywhere...

Wow, just read through all this, and thought its way too much work for a damn stereo. I think im going to just get the American Muscle unit they have. Im not a big music guy anyway. Just mainly want it for looks, or if i can find a decent priced Android Auto system.

Does the USB port in the center console work attached to the unit and the USB port in bottom left of the dash?
Hopefully the new revision of that unit doesn't have the HVAC issues.

Too much work? You literally splice the wires from this kit into whatever aftermarket headunit you have, plug it all in and bolt it in. That would literally be the only difference between this and the AM unit. To get AA you have to either go this route with an AA capable HU or a full sync 3 swap.
